Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

oh no i hope you're all not coming down with something @Shaz51

I ended up emailing my psych this afternoon to let her know how things are and that I called the CAT team this morning. She'll prob reply tomorrow.

Also, i managed to get an appt tomorrow morning with my doctor. hoping he will give me some meds to help me calm down as a PRN. Not sure that he will, but we'll see.

Hi @Paperdaisy

I’ve still got this headache but my doctor told me it is lasting effect from this virus as well as fatigue which I have too.
I’m going to have a sleep as I’m so tired.

Re: Need to vent

Life can be stressful @BlueBay and I understand what you are saying - I went through a bad patch in 1986 - I had those thoughts but I couldn't cause that kind of pain to my family

I have had a stressful time lately and I can assure you it gets easier to deal with stress as I get older - I have been through a wide variety of experiences - wonderful through to terrible - and I am glad for my life - it has been worth living

And I have learned I am resilient - I will manage - this week has not been pleasant but I am okay. I really pray you can learn to be resilient as you get older.

And goals - yes - I read about your difficulty about finding goals - just getting through the day is a good one - and I find getting my dinner every night a great one. Learning to be resilient is a longer term one.

I wish you the best - it's time to Life-Stream my aunt's funeral now

Hi my friends @Shaz51 @Owlunar @Paperdaisy @Former-Member @Emelia8 @MDT others reading along

today my psych called and made an appt to see her at 1.30pm. We spoke about the new medication that didn’t work as it gave me side effects. We talked about me calling the CAT team the other day. Our very bad finances and selling our home. As well as my eating.
She told me that I’m subconsciously harming myself with my disordered eating. I’m punishing myself was her words.
we agreed that I’m not ready for work. We agreed also that rationally it is the best option to sell our home snd move away from the area. But emotionally I’m feeling it.
we talked and talked snd she said she will see if a psych can admit me into hospital for a break and possibly change of meds. She doesn’t want me home doing change of AD.
I cried a lot letting it all out. She totally understands the stress with no finances.
She wants to see me Monday afternoon to check how I’m going.
she is such a caring psych. Someone like her I've never met before.

Watching tennis tonight should be a good game. Then on Sunday we’ve got my daughters belated 30th birthday party. Should be a nice day.

hope everyone is doing ok. Hugs to all xxxxx

I hope the weekend goes well for you with the tennis and your daughter’s birthday.
