Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Re: Need to vent

Lol @Eve7 . If only...

@Shaz51 , sorry to hear your day was also spoiled.... live and learn. What goes around, comes around.

Hi @BlueBay , how are you? Do walks help ease the pain?
And with the second vaxx, I never had any probs. No issues with the first either. I was supposed to go back to work onsite on Monday. Unfortunately, DHHS called me and said I need to isolate for 14 days because I'm a primary close contact of a positive case. Then this evening I found out that I'm a close contact of 2 positive cases! I thought I'd be able to see humans at work next week....looks like I'll be staring at my computer screen for another 2 weeks...sad story.

Never mind. Flip side is, I'm going to pre-record all my lessons so I can still do what I planned to do with the kids onsite. This is a lot of work, but I need to do it for my own sanity. Also, I'm going to make the best use of my quarantine to complete my last uni assignment....

If I don't look at the positives, I'll just get frustrated and upset.

Hello @BlueBay , @Eve7 , @Zoe7 , @Emelia8 , @MDT , @Shaz51 , @BPDSurvivor

"

Responding to comments in today's “Need to vent” thread posts.

"

@BlueBay - Noticed that you cut down to 1 tab, which is good if it works, so you still have one in reserve in case you need it. Lentil soup -yum yum.

Like @Eve7 and others have said, I hope that you have had some relief from pain and discomfort today.

Went out with a friend to a town 100 km up the road for a gathering which was pleasant. I was the passenger, so I was able to see more of what was going by than I am usually able to do as driver. I have written about it on my “Henry's Landing Strip & Hangar” thread.

Have felt the arm pain from the vaccination, same as last time. But not the headache or stomach ache so far, for this 2nd one. A little lethargic – sounds like the way that your son seems to have felt.

I hope that tomorrow is a pleasant day for you and your family.

"

@Eve7 – sounds like a really exhilarating day, as coach for the athletes with their successes.

As is the case with sporting achievements, accolades and congratulations to the coach as well as the athletes. So pleased to hear from you of how proud you are of and for them.

"

@MDT – Hoping that your meeting with friends is enjoyable and reassuring. If you make the decision to take a dive into the social activities, I hope that you can psych yourself up for the occasion to give yourself the best chance of enjoying the gathering and passing that enjoyment on and sharing it with others. It is what is in your mind that determines what happens, for better or for worse.

"

@Zoe7 – I hope that your day has been uplifting and enjoyable.

I hope you and @Eve7 don't mind me adding 2 cents worth, but I like your thoughts about boundaries and compliance. If the lass is old enough to own and drive a car, she is old enough to take responsibility for her life and behaviour. If I recall correctly, similar issues have come up recently, so this is not the first time.

Good days end badly when we allow them to.

Boundaries, expectations, compliance and reality checks all supported. And no psychological blackmail by gd. And 2nd the “so be proud of yourself too.” offered by @Zoe7 , {unless someone else already has 2nd, in which case I'll take 3rd place}.

And remain calm, quiet, self-assured and firm.

As @BlueBay says, “you don't deserve to be treated like that.” {and I am adding my thought} unless you think that you do. If you don't, be firm.

Should I be sorry for being so bold? I'll just say sorry in advance and be done with it.

"

@Emelia8 – Hi, Hope that your day was really pleasant and fulfilling.

"

@Shaz51 – you didn't give much detail on what happened when you came home.

I hope that the pleasure of the day will still carry over for you.

"

@BPDSurvivor – Positive anticipation seems to have been delayed for you as well. I like the way that you have described dealing with the situation. A definite plan. In so many ways, over the last year and a half+, we have had hopes raised and dashed. Barriers to family, friends, work associates, and people for whom we have varying degrees of responsibility.

Pleased that the vaccination process was relatively smooth for you.

"

With Best Wishes to All

Re: Need to vent

How are you @Eve7 today? I am flat, not doing much at all. Went down the street this morning with hubby for a coffee down the beach. But that's it. Home resting as much as possible. I have so much on my mind that i can't seperate it atm. There seems to be so much i have to do now and in the near future (selling our home early next year and moving to i don't know where!!!); it's such a stressful period. And with Christimas only 10 weeks away I am stressing as to how on earth am i going to buy presents for everyone with very limited amount of money. I think everyone will get noty very much this year. I am getting really anxious and overwhelmed with the thought of Christmas.

Hi to my friends - @MDT @HenryX @BPDSurvivor @Shaz51 @Emelia8 @Anastasia @oceangirl

hope everyone is having a nice Sunday afternoon xxxxx

@MDT @HenryX @BPDSurvivor @Shaz51 @oceangirl @Emelia8 and others reading

I heard today that lockdown in Victoria will ease on Thursday this week. We can visit with up to 10 people inside.

I straight away thought of going to see my parents. I am double vacc and they have had one vac. i spoke to mum before and she says to me 'oh no visitors for us until we have our second vac which is middle of December"

how long before having second astrazenca vac?

so i am guessing that i won't see her or dad until xmas if we're lucky. If not that will be 6 months of not seeing my dad. All i want is a hug, talk to him.

i feel like she is now using this covid as an excuse. I know they are in their 80's and are being very careful which i understand.

i am trying not to worry about it.

So really no difference for me. still stuck at home with nowhere to go. No money to do or go anywhere.

i feel like giving up on my crafts that i was goinog to try to sell. nothing is working out how i want to - so i am feeling like a failure and 'what's the point'. i have no faith in myself.
