Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Dear @BlueBay ... So sorry you are in so much pain and back in hospital. Colitis is painful and unpleasant. My husband had it a couple of years back, as a result of inflamation from his cancer treatments. I hope they can relieve your pain and resolve any underlying issues quickly. Try to rest as much as possible and let the Drs and nurses take care of you. Sending you a big dose of love and care my good friend. 💞

Re: Need to vent

Hi @BlueBay

You must feel helpless - tossed around by the wind at times - and I understand how hard this is

You can make decisions - you make them all the time - you make them when you talk to your doctor - choosing when you will go and what you will tell him, you choose when you will go to work and when you won't, you choose what to cook and when to refrain from cooking. All sorts of things everyday. You even choose to stay in your marriage which is okay for you - and that isn't an easy choice either

But because your doctor tells you something doesn't mean you have to take his advice - about working - or whether you go into hospital - he is a primary care doctor and it seems lately you have been seeing specialists and those tests were obviously necessary or you wouldn't have been having them

I know how hard it is to have something physically wrong with you and your GP doesn't do anything - in your case he thinks your pain is from your Mental Health issues and you need those tests imo. Serious pain like that needs investigation. That was the right thing to do

The thing is - what do you think about your being a silly girl who needs to be cared for by the medical profession? It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. What do you think?

Actually you really need to be cared for with all the pain you are in. The doctors in the ED know when people are in serious pain. They don't give you strong medication unless they are sure of it.

And when your doctor saw you last night he was convinced obviously - sending you back to the ED - and now you are having more tests and antibiotics etc - and I glad they are treating you and taking this seriously

Think about this - your doctor keeps telling you that you will be okay and you keep telling him you are not and you are plodding along - battling so much intestional and stomach problems - which could be caused by stress but still need treatment

Try and not let other people's opinions bother you - that is not easy I know - but stick to your guns about it

For years my periods were normal and overnight they were bad and got worse - I had trouble getting a referral to a surgeon and went to another clinic where I was referred and I had an hysterectomy and I had very bad endometriosis - if I hadn't reached out to another clinic I would have gone on from month to month being told it was stress

And just because you have stress doesn't mean the pain is from stress - pain is your body telling your something and you must listen because you are the one suffering

And you are suffering

I can only wish you the best and tell you to have faith in yourself

Re: Need to vent

Thank you @Owlunar

I feel that things happen for a reason. Snd for me right now I need to look after my health. Thsts more and important than anything else. Wirk can wait. Hubby went to tell I don't be in tomorrow. They were fine saying for me to get well soon.

I am going to concentrate more on my health when I come out if hodpital. I think hubby and kids now know how sick I've been and still am.

Can't wait to go to the private hospital and be cared for again. Public hospitals are not the same.
I'll let you know how I go. I'm exhausted think I need got sleep.

Re: Need to vent

You are right @BlueBay

You need to care for your health - that is of prime importance - and all the health issues you have need sorting out -

And I do understand - and I have been through it myself - years ago when my son was getting into more and more trouble my health really failed and it was no good having a different GP at my clinic telling me it was stress - I knew that - it was so frustrating. I had to really hold onto the picture that it was a physical condition and yes - stress - it can make things worse - but the pain is real

All the best - and I am glad you are going into a privare hospital - public hospitals are not the same - I go into hospital through the ED at a private hospital - my specialist admits people there - and that's good to know

Get some sleep when you can - I hope you are in a room by yourself but maybe not - I don't know how things work because of the coronavirus -

All the best

Re: Need to vent

Hi my friends @Owlunar @Eve7 @MDT @Emelia8 @Maggie @Shaz51 @Zoe7 @Faith-and-Hope and others

I'm alone so alone

In pain but managed

I'm in my private room at hospital

I'm isolated and cannot have visitors

it's stupid

because of my one diarrhoea episode two days ago they are now wanting to isolate me and I need to give sample to be sent off for a specific bug test. If negative I can then have visitors

could potentially be here for a week

I don't get it. It's nit that I'm vomiting or hsving alit of episodes of diarrhoea. The nurse agreed but she spoke to unit manager and they can't cancel the order from specialist. Also every person coming into my room hsve to wear those blue gowns.

im on a strict fluid diet

breakfast lunch dinner - jelly or liquid soup

no milk in my coffee

this is to give my gut a break and heal

im going crazy

I've got a book but can't read it

I'm feeling overwhelmed by this whole process

night nurse was a real bitch

my mun rings me this morning (nice of her)

she asks if I'm still in hospital?? WTF I just came in yesterday afternoon

she says "have they found anything" no they can't do colonoscopy until inflammation goes down

her tone of voice and stupid questions snd comments I feel she doesn't believe me

well I don't care whether she believes me or not

Have you got your knitting with you, or something else to do so your mind doesn't try to focus all it's attention on things like your mum's phone call ?

No I have only a book. I'm not sure I could knit. But I will get hubby to bring in some pencils with my colouring book.
