Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Re: Need to vent

Hi OG good to see ya
@oceangirl
Made pancakes for brekky. Bought coffee and croissant too. Then did walk around my area before I
Got a walk in. Did maths test for job applications. Think I got 15/24 but not sure.
Spent arvo organising uni submission.
Did family zoom talk and it was a bit abrash. Lots of yelling and talking over each other. Nothing like real life. Family can be weird but we end up relying on them. Not too sure if they know about my MH. But anyways.

Just ate dinner.

Have somewhat of a plan for the week including tomorrow.

How are you?

@MDT Good to see you too. And thank you for the message

Hope you have a good week and you progress through with your job application. You seem to making headway my friend.

Glad you had a good day, and yes family can be difficult at times. My day has been busy with Milo since his surgery, he did stay his first night in hospital. I went to shops today, I got a new doona, large tote bag for groceries, shirt, and toy for Milo and then went to chemist to get a few things. I have done washing and ironing and folded away clothes, and taken Milo outside many times today and I have cooked dinner= chicken kiev and sweet potato chips and beans and carrots.

For this week I am going to look at my gym (goup exercise sessions) and see what sessions I might be interested in and what time they are happening. I am going to start to declutter and sell a few things I don't need anymore or don't use. And also paint my back pergola sometime this week. And also will be looking after Milo for the next 5 and half weeks.

Re: Need to vent

overall i think i am experiencing a balance of negative and positive emotions these days @oceangirl
i still think "what if" though a lot more than I want to.

Re: Need to vent

I hope so too @MDT

I am trying to keep busy

I have not got my new puppy yet- she is coming in just under 5 weeks- I will have my hands full with Milo. He should be well and truly over the worse of it by then. I hope anyway- he will be close to 6 weeks post op.

I was thinking about what to have for dessert too, I might have an ice cream and then have a cup of tea. Tomorrow I might try to book in for a massage because I am feeling sore (neck and shoulders). I think I will go for a walk first thing in the morning and grab myself a coffee.

Have you done a CBT course before?

Re: Need to vent

@MDT

Do you think you get into a cycle (worry cycle)?

Thought journal - helps you realize the types of what-if thoughts that are running through your head.

Take producative action- Taking productive action helps and thus make progress on a problem issue

Each day try to do something you enjoy doing !!

Re: Need to vent

Yeah I'd say I do re the cycle @oceangirl
The only way to help that is not to start it I think
But I think comes from being in a place of dissatisfaction with myself. That comes from something deeper too still.
In the end I can only compare myself to myself. I must learn this.

I guess I try to track my thoughts and patterns. But then I get lost in it ever again lol.

I'm not too sure.

Have you done CBT
