Goodness me no @Anastasia .... you have been a wonderful friend here, despite all thats going on for you right now. And not only to me, but to countless others here. Can never thank you enough for the tireless support you have given me.
Sounds like your anxiety over your Dads results tomorrow has hit like a brickbat tonight. And not only concern over your dad, but also your Boy who remains in hospital. Regarding your Dad, knowing what you already know, its very understandable to be expecting the worst. I think that is human nature. And in many ways, it helps to prepare us for bad news.
As sad and hopeless as things may seem ... I know your strength will carry you through whatever eventuates tomorrow. Nobody wants to deal with awful news about a loved parent. But I know you can, and will, when the time comes.
I know you are a loving, caring and supportive daughter. And I'm confident that you will stand up and be the support and strength that your Mum (and also your Dad) will need over coming months/years.
So allow yourself to cry, because you have every reason to do so. But I do know you can deal with whatever comes, both tomorrow and into future.
Sadly we are now at an age where our elderly parents health is fading, and we must carry on. As heartbreaking as that is ... it is also a fact of life. Our hope is that we can keep them safe, well and comfortable for a long long time.
As for your Dad ... sudden remission from cancer is not unheard of .. so who knows? I do know that you have done some lovely things with your parents over the past couple of months ... going away on a family holiday, Friday family get togethers, etc. Hang onto the knowledge that you have helped to make these past couple of months very special for him. No matter what happens, or when ... he will be grateful for all you have done.
I spoke to my Dad today, as I do every day. He has his surgery in the morning ... skin cancer removal from his forehead and skin grafts. I'm hoping it all goes to plan, but of course given Dad is 88yo and will need a general anaesthetic, there are definitely risks involved. So I am feeling pretty apprehensive myself tonight. But ... I'm sure it will all be okay.
Please remember to breathe ... nice and controlled, in and out. What will be will be, and all will be okay.
Always remember that I am here for you. Tag me anytime, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
