Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Re: Changing meds

@WIP I am really upset that you are in so much pain right now and feeling so alone. If you do not feel safe, you need to do whatever it takes to ensure you ARE safe. That may be: Giving Levi a cuddle, phoning your Mum, calling a Helpline, or if those solutions do not work .... please do not hesitate to call 000. Please @WIP ... you definitely DO matter ... you matter to all your loving friends here on the forum, you matter to your family and to Levi. Will the loneliness and pain ever stop? I dont know WIP, because I know you live with physical pain every single day. But the emotional pain can definitely improve. And that in turn means you are much better able to continue dealing with your physical pain. I know you are going through a dreadfully difficult time right now ... but it will not always be this bad. You have been through such a lot, and you have been so very resilient and resolute to get to where you are. I know you can come through this latest crisis, and get back on track. Please do what you need to do to keep yourself safe today. Then see what tomorrow brings. One day at a time. Sending you much love and strength.

Re: Changing meds

Thank you very much for your kind words @Emelia8 and acknowledging the physical pain/issues I struggle with also. Some days it's all too much and I just can't calm myself down and change my negative thought track. I am in the mindset that my health will never going to improve.
The loneliness is driving me to an early grave. I have no one, no one at all!! I'm becoming too much for my Mum to deal with - I saw it in her eyes yesterday. She's the only reason I stay alive.
It has been so difficult for so long Em, I don't know what to do anymore. I long to be able to sleep forever.

I will do the right thing and call a support line. They can't help me, I'm beyond help - the long line of specialistists I've seen this year, have reinforced that to me. I may just be able to settle a little bit though, actually speaking to someone.

Thank you again, for your kindness, acknowledgment and understanding.

Re: Changing meds

Hey @WIP hope you have been able to reach out and talk with someone. I’m sorry that today is so yucky and your having a tough time. Please know that you do matter and even though I’ve only been about a little bit, I’ve appreciated your kindness and thoughtful words.

i can understand how difficult it is to live in chronic pain? If that’s what is going on? Read back a few pages, so not entirely sure. And to know that it’s not going to get any better is frustrating. I have a number of chronic conditions which seem to be getting worse and I ain’t too old- it’s depressing knowing that this is life and it will only get worse. But it is what it is and need to make the best of what I have been dealt and know that our suffering it’s not wasted.

I truly hope that you are talking with someone. now and getting some support and that you can get a restful nights sleep. Feeling well rested certainly helps my pain and then I am more able to deal with all the other stuff that life throws my way.

thinking of you.
