Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Re: Changing meds

Goodness me ... no @WIP ... the mention of SVU does not trigger me, so no need to apologise at all. 😄 And I really like the show, but some of the storylines trigger bad memories. So I just have to be careful which ones I watch.

Oh great, really pleased you have ordered some diamond painting. I hope you are not disappointed. I definitely find it calming, and I hope you do too. I got quite a bit of mine done this arvo. Hubby had 4 of his drinking buddies over for a drinking session this arvo, so I had a couple of hours to myself.

Had a nice dinner tonight, just finished. And a glass of good red wine .. a shiraz, which is my favourite. 😄👍🍷

I hope your apt with the new psych goes much better than you expect.

Re: Changing meds

Thanks @WIP and @Eve7 just tucked her into bed after some snuggles and a story. Handovers are always an anxious time, his smell- weird I know, but it triggers a lot for me and he really got in my space tonight. Free now until next weekend!

@WIP I can understand your feelings around a new psychologist. I’m waiting to start with one, haven’t been in any therapy for over 12 yrs and while I am extremely anxious about it and having to start from the beginning and all, I am desperate to get that call. I truly hope this is a good experience for you and it goes well.

Good morning,

Anyone about? I'm not doing so well? Thanks.

Re: Changing meds

Here, but not @WIP .. if that makes sense. On the go trying to organise things in preparation for tomorrows surgery. Nuclear medicine early arvo too.

But I am happy to sit with you for a while now.

Really sorry you are not doing well. Have you had your apt with new psych yet, or is that coming up later?

Hey @WIP

Is it before or after your appointment?

I can sit or chat a little.

Thanks both @Emelia8 & @Appleblossom

I had my psychologist appt just now. Feeling a little unsettled - I'll be ok. Think I may have a lay down. Thanks for reaching out.

Hugs,

WIP

I am sorry to hear that you're not having the best day. I hope the lie down helped a little bit.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that we are here for you. You're more than welcome to give the Help Centre a call to have a chat with us about what happened today and get some support.

Take it easy and take care of yourself today.

Thanks @Former-Member

I appreciate your support. I feel very lost and hopeless. Not sure if anything is worth it anymore - I try all types of support. But ultimately I believe I'm beyond help
