Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Re: Changing meds

@BPDSurvivor You know just what to say at the right time - thank you my valued friend.

I have been through a lot, a bloody lot and some

daya it just gets the better of me, particularly not being stable with my meds atm.

I will keep being a soldier and fight my way through each day, no matter what it brings

Increase in this new med has to kick in soon, and I can start working on how I got here in the first place.

How are you enjoying your holidays dear @BPDSurvivor ?

Love L xx

Re: Changing meds

You mean a lot to me @WIP . From the very beginning, I felt a real connection. I have felt the emotional pain you were going through, and could not, but have compassion. My aim is not to tell you that everything will be wonderful, but I do aim to tell you the truth. MH has it downs, but it definitely has ups too. It helps us grow in ourselves. If I didn't have MH experiences, I would be the most heartless, snobby, and proud individual. Hence I am glad I have these challenges. As I said, my MH journey has enabled me to meet REAL people.

As for my holidays, they are drawing to a close. After that, I have one more week working from home before I go back on-site to school. I have not been onsite since March. I'll be thrilled to see everybody when we all return.

Today, I had a 4-hour brunch with work colleagues (via WebEx), then I went for a 10km walk. The weather was sensational!

Anyway, looking forward to hearing from you @WIP . Remember, sometimes, things get just that little bit worse before they get better.

All the therapy you have done comes through in your advice and inspires me to keep searching along the same path you have so bravely taken.

I can't imagine the feeling of excitement you have for going back into the office. D hold some

abrehension too, but you've got the situation under control - you warrior!

Re: Changing meds

Wow, losing weight on antipsychotics. I wish my doctor had given me the ones you are on, rather than swapping me over without explaining the side effects. I will never forgive him for that @Eve7

I would put on weight overnight & I told Him so - he just nodded & said yes, that happens.

being this heavy has made my depression worse. I've never been this big. As an adult, always a

snug 10, to 12.

Now I'm a snug 14 & growing!!!!

Imhave so many beautiful, expensive work clothes, I can't being myself to donate them.

i need to is them as motivation to lose weight and get well enough to work.

Re: Changing meds

I'm glad you are well @Anastasia and that it sounds as though your boy will have a good day too.

Does he get a bit emotionally drained after his psychologist appt, or does he actually look forward to them.?

I'm crappying myself about my upcoming appt with a new psychologist. I haven't had a very good run with them in the past. This time round, I'm mainly concerned about wasting the session being emotional and crying a lot. Anyway, I've got plenty of time to worry about that.
