Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Re: Changing meds

My ED is my biggest challenge at the moment @WIP and I don't feel like I am moving forward with it. That's why I was in hospital last week- I passed out at home cause I'm doing things that I shouldn't be. Just can't seem to stop.
was your hospital stay helpful? You got off your anxiety meds? Think that's why you went in yeah?

I'll be right, unused to building myself up again after falling. This new peer worker will help a lot I'm sure. I'm pretty confident she'll be able to come to my house, but to honest, I'd like to go out for a bit - get out of the house.

Thanks for your reply, @WIP - you sounded positive, I'm glad. 🙂 I guess nothing will happen today, being a public holiday, but you'll be seeing her later in the week?

Thanks for your kind words. You keep warm too! 💛

Hi @outlander

It's been awhile - how are you going? 💕

Re: Changing meds

I've still got a long way to go too @Bow

Yes, my hospital stay was to reduce anti anxiety meds and introduce a lower dose one to eventually taper off from, plus into a new antidepressant.
I had an ED in my 20s, so know how difficult things are. I still don't have a comfortable relationship with food and have terrible gastrointestinal problems because of it.

I hope your hospital visit was of some benefit?
