Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Re: Changing meds

You are very special to me @WIP and I happen to know you are also very special to @Emelia8 as well...I just picked some roses from my garden and popped them in the lounge - it really is the simple things.

Do you have some flowers you can pick @WIP ?

Hello dear @Clawde, happy you have found a safe place here. You are a blessing to us too my friend 🙂

Re: Changing meds

No, Unfortunatley I don't have an established garden to pick flowers from @Anastasia

I live in a lovely suburb with tree lined streets, and beautiful period homes (most with stunning extensions) with gorgeous cares for gardens, so when we go out waking I get to see lovely flowers in bloom - spring time is the best!

I need to make more of an effort with the courtyard I have. I let it go in 2019, with all thetrauma that happened and my hospital admissions, and then when I got Levi, I just didn't bother as he was going to go through the puppy digging phase.

@Clawde @Appleblossom Hello, nice to see you here my friends 👋

I understand @WIP gardens are lot of work, mine is too much but when I get out there I do enjoy it. Woolworth have the little garden pots they are giving away at present - do you have a Woolies near you? Perhaps you could grow one of those on your kitchen bench? I have a small rose bush, I can't see it as it is down the side of the house which is why I picked some today to enjoy before they just fall off. Hope you are doing ok...thinking of you 🙂

Re: Changing meds

Ahhh @Clawde .. I am so happy that you have dogs, cats and birds. Pets are so good for us.

Everyone else here will vouch for that I'm sure @WIP @Anastasia @Snowie @Adge @Former-Member

That is so very true ... our beloved pets love us no matter what. Good days, bad days, happy times, sad times. They always want to see us and always greet us with happiness and enthusiasm. And they always listen!

I have a dog, my little Holly. I also have 9 budgies in a large outdoor aviary. And I can probably lay claim to a stray black cat. He lives here more than anywhere else I think. He is a stray though, and comes and goes. However, nobody lays claim to owning him. He allows me to pat him and is quite friendly. And Holly accepts him as part of the furniture. I expect it would be a different matter if he was to venture inside the house. But while he is outside, he is to be suffered by her. Thats the way it seems. And I also have 2 large goldfish (comets) in a large outdoor fishpond.

Hi @WIP Please never give up. I've been where you are and believe it or not, it does get better.

I know it's an incredibly awful place to be and it seems that there's no end to it. But there is. I went through it for years and years and finally am finding my way out and you can too. 💖
Hi to everyone else here @Anastasia @Clawde @Snowie @TAB @Emelia8 @Appleblossom etc 💖
