Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Re: Changing meds

My dear @WIP ,

I wish it could have been different when you reached out. It takes so much bravery to put your hand up in the first place in asking for help.

Im so sorry. But everyone is right, the MH system has a long way to go. The ones who need it most are being turned away. It breaks my heart to know this.

@WIP , thank you for keeping in touch with us, even during your most vulnerable time/s. It strengthens the fact that we are one big caring community.

Rest up my dear. Keep in touch. I'm waiting to hear from you.

Biggest, hugest, squeeziest hug!

Re: Changing meds

I'm really struggling with being turned away from the ER on Friday night and in particular what the psych doctor said to me.

Yesterday I think I was a bit numb, in shock of what happened.

Today, I am distraught.
I have my psychologist on Tuesday, it feels so far away and what is she going to do anyway to stop these constant tears. I don't feel I can make it till then, but I know I will, but it'll be so painful in the meantime.

I can't stop these thoughts, these thoughts of I can't do it anymore.

I need medication that works to calm me down.

I need to be able to get some sleep.

I can't get into my new GP till Thursday

@Bow @BPDSurvivor @Eve7 @Emelia8 @outlander @Anastasia

Please convince me it's worth being here anymore

I am going to work in the morning @WIP because people like you believe in me and I want to prove you all right.

I believe in you my friend and you will make it through to Tuesday but first get through today, cross it off your calendar and then take the next tiny step.

I am sorry it's been so hard for you but you are not alone on this forum, just one tiny step at a time.
