Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Re: Changing meds

Thanks for being so kind @Shaz51

I just don't know what to do - I can't calm down and my thoughts are convincing me a ways to do that. I'm not in a state to drive to the emergency room, and being Saturday night in emergency sounds like a nightmare @Jynx

Re: Changing meds

I totally get you @WIP - I can imagine the prospect to be incredibly daunting and even discouraging - to be exposed to other people, the busy and tense atmosphere... we all hope you don't have to go through that. But if it does mean that you are safe, then please consider as an option. If getting there is an issue, call 000, or get in touch with your state's CAT team (numbers listed here) to see if they can send anyone out to you.

Your safety is incredibly important. Deep breaths, I'm here with you.

Sitting with you @WIP

Let’s have a cuppa with @Shaz51 and sit quietly in the moment.

When do you see your Psych next?

Re: Changing meds

Thanks @Jynx

I had forgotten about the CAT team. I can't calm down, have been awake since 5am and feel like I'm losing my mind. I don't want to keep going this way.

Re: Changing meds

It's her on Monday @Eve7

Thats if I make it to Monday. I'm in bad shape Eve & Shaz, thanks for sitting with me.

I feel like I need a sedative to calm me down

Re: Changing meds

Sorry you're having such a horrible day @WIP

💖 I know how tough it can feel. Can sit with you, if that helps. 🌺

Re: Changing meds

Im back now too @WIP and sitting with you, along with @Eve7 @Shaz51 @Jynx @Anastasia @Former-Member

If you are feeling that bad @WIP it really is becoming serious, and maybe its time to present to emergency. 😔 I know its awful timing on a holiday weekend Saturday. But then again, there really is no 'good' time. Please consider it, if it makes the difference between surviving until Monday, or not. 💞
