I am struggling at the moment

I am struggling at the moment

I don't know why I am really writing this. There seems to be part of me which says that I need to pull my head in and do this alone and another part who so desperately wants to reach out for help. I am really struggling. I'm not coping at all. For much of the day I've thought about all the reasons to die and there are hundreds. There is also one reason to live that keeps me here. I can't let down my oldest son and cut out his trip of a lifetime. He would have to come home and pick up all the pieces for everyone. I keep telling myself I have to hold on until he comes back and then I can let go but this keeps me waiting to die not choosing to live. I have a cold sore that now goes from the corner of my eye the length of my nose and it's slowly creeping across my face from stress. It started on Wednesday and each morning I wake to find more of my face engulfed by it. I am so tired. I am so sorry to write this and I know I'm so lucky to have friends on here that care. I don't want anyone to have to deal with this as it is so depressing so I started this thread as a way of saying that I'm not well when writing here and please don't feel obliged to read or respond.

Re: I am struggling at the moment

@Former-Member. Sounds busy at your house tonight. My son isn't into girls yet, but I don't think it will be long.
All the best for your sons footy game tomorrow. I hope he goes well.
I normally struggle ro get my son to go out, but a new friend of his is a great influence & any chance at 14 years old to see an M rated movie. Lol.
I struggle to do a full day of babysitting. So my bf's daughter is going to my mums for the first 2 hours (I'm not good in the morning) & my mum has plans to cook her a banquet for breakfast. They will both be so happy ro have one on one time. Then I get to play with her from 10.30. Already planned some activities. And she will have some ideas herself, so should be able to fill in the day. I'm looking forward to it.
Enjoy tomorrow & go go go (whatever team your son plays with)

Re: I am struggling at the moment

@utopia This is the first time one of my sons has had a serious girlfriend so young, he was 15 when they started and next month it will be a year and they are as close as ever. My other son has been with his girlfriend over 3 years now. The other two haven't had serious relationships yet. So it's always a learning curve. I'm just hoping that none of them get their heart broken but I suppose it's inevitable that it will happen one day.

I wouldn't cope with a whole day baby sitting either, it sounds like your mum is fantastic support. Have fun tomorrow. Cheers 💜😊

Re: I am struggling at the moment

@Former-Member. My mum loves it - having young ones around. She would do it all day if her health was better.
Wow a whole year & 3 years. I couldn't hold a relationship that long when I was young. I barely managed it as an adult. I think this generation are so much more mature than I was at that age.
You must be doing something right for them to be such good young men & to be comfortable to bring them home.

Re: I am struggling at the moment

I'm sure your son will when the time is right @utopia and he'll bring them home too. It has actually been the best thing I could have ever imagined for my 16 yr old, it has given him the security and support he needs when I'm unwell and her family have taken him in as family which is lovely. I didn't have long term relationships at their age either.

Re: I am struggling at the moment

@Former-Member. Will have to wait and see if my son brings a girlfriend home. He doesn't bring matds around any more, but I hope that will change now I'm not drinking everyday and .y depression is decreasing. I think I'm once back into the workforce and he can see my successful treatment is successful.

Hi @utopia

my sons have only just bought their girlfriends over. I'm sure yours will too. He is at a difficult age where they think everything has to be perfect to be normal. I'm sure by the time he realises that life is not perfect you'll have kicked this and shown him what true resilience and life is about. Keep staying strong @utopia. You are a great role model on here. I hope your day was good with the 4 yr old too. 💜💐

Re: I am struggling at the moment

@Former-Member. Thanks for your kind words. I'm learning how to communicate with my son a lot better now. So things are improving there.
Was great to spend one on one time with my friends 4 year old. Had fun. But boy was I grateful when her mum picked her up. Lol. I was asleep within 20 minutes of her leaving. I don't know how my bf copes. At 45 I feel too old and lack the energy.
How did your son go at footy today? I hope hehad a great game.
Was your day good?
