I am struggling at the moment

I am struggling at the moment

I don't know why I am really writing this. There seems to be part of me which says that I need to pull my head in and do this alone and another part who so desperately wants to reach out for help. I am really struggling. I'm not coping at all. For much of the day I've thought about all the reasons to die and there are hundreds. There is also one reason to live that keeps me here. I can't let down my oldest son and cut out his trip of a lifetime. He would have to come home and pick up all the pieces for everyone. I keep telling myself I have to hold on until he comes back and then I can let go but this keeps me waiting to die not choosing to live. I have a cold sore that now goes from the corner of my eye the length of my nose and it's slowly creeping across my face from stress. It started on Wednesday and each morning I wake to find more of my face engulfed by it. I am so tired. I am so sorry to write this and I know I'm so lucky to have friends on here that care. I don't want anyone to have to deal with this as it is so depressing so I started this thread as a way of saying that I'm not well when writing here and please don't feel obliged to read or respond.

Re: I am struggling at the moment

Yeah I am @Former-Member. I'm upset but not out of control which is always good. I would just like for this stuff not to happen and for me not to experience such extreme reactions when it does. I hope your day has been ok. Sorry for whinging big time but I think it has helped a bit. Hopefully it will work out still. Thanks for caring 💜😊

Hi @Former-Member

you're not whinging and you have every right to be emotional and express how you are feeling after being treated without respect or dignity.

keep sharing, and i'm glad that it's helped,

hugs!

I would be a wreck as well,

lj

Wow @Former-Member ....

I don't think I know any arty sensitive person who wouldn't be spun out by something like that .... so proud of you handling the disappointment in a way that you got upset but you are keeping on the safe side .... and your therapist is my new hero .... so well done that she has picked you up and will take action on the problem ....

Right on @Former-Member .... it sounds absolutely terrible .... I'm so upset for you .... ❣

Art is so healing .... what are they thinking ???!!

Keep it together @Former-Member .... and put some beautiful things in your car .....

I love my car !

It doesn't just get me from A to B .... it's my escape-pod .... my away from home sanctuary .... has music in it .... if I put food in it it has food in it .... 😏 ..... and distracting magazines with crossword sin them .... and a pen (very important !) .....

Love that we are car-pod-appreciation-buddies .....

Hugs n hugs ❤️💕

I don't here you whinging - I have heard people whinging - who hasn't? - and we know you are not - you're not that kind of person

And @Faith-and-Hope - I love your excape-pod - I never called my car anything like that - but I sure spent my days in it from time to time - I could drive it, park alone in it, read in it, sleep in it, eat in it, and wait for my next class or task in it

And I miss it - I would not feel safe behind with wheel of my car - the spasms in my spine would make it most unwise to drive - and without a licence - what good would this do?

I have to invent my own excape pod - maybe it's me sitting in front of my computer with the TV on a current events programme - I could do that for as long as it is interesting

Re: I am struggling at the moment

Hi @Former-Member, I think I'd react the same as you, it is a major disappointment, and to imply you bought it on yourself : ( after all the hard work you've put in, in the other direction of progress. Stuff them over this but don't let it sabotage your progress. You're more invested in you than they'll ever be, they probably had someone else they wanted to put in your place this time round. It feels like a rejection. Its not. We can sense how far you've come this last fortnight just here on the forums. You deserve a reward not the opposite. Don't know if you believe in God but I believe there's a reason for everything, for food, not harm, reasons that will be evident in the future. This helps me accept disappointment better, as God's ill for me, to teach or strengthen me... we just have to endure. Don't leave us.

Re: I am struggling at the moment

@Former-Member

I've just read your latest post.

I am so sorry you feel so bad, and that is understandable and normal with what as happen yesterday re your treating team.

I am not happy at all, how they have treated you, and have now let you down again- that is not kool at all. You have every right to access programs and to participant in decision making re your mental health (health), and not to be treated with such disrespect, lack of compassion & understanding. It actually makes my blood boil how MI patients/clients are treated compared to people suffering from lets says a heart complaint.

You are not a piece of dirt @Former-Member , you are a beautiful and caring person, who should not have to put up with this garage from so called professionals who are meant to be there to help and support you and to engage you in your treatment to ensure you are actively participating. The key here is that you are engaged, and the only way they can engage someone is to build a relationship based on trust.

I wish you could access other options so that you could participant more in your treatment and decision making and plus they took into consideration your needs and preferences for your treatment and therefore you would be more satisfied with the service you are receiving, and more likely to be engaged in treatment and functioning better and thus see improvements in your health.

I am thinking of you and I am glad you had the support of you therapist today.

Re: I am struggling at the moment

Yes I am glad you have the therapist on your side.

I dont understand some people in those positions.

The mindfulness course is designed to help you stabilise wont help .. delay

We had a disabled girl who loved coming to the choir which I helped a trained teacher run for 4 years. Her carers would punish her by preventing her from attending choir .. which is what really brought the best out of her ... they would threaten her with 'removal of choir privilege' endlessly if she was naughty ... we did not think it was professional or right but we were just parents and volunteers at the school .. not staff ...so didnt know anything ..they didnt try and get to the bottom of the problematic behaviour or what that was about ...

Take care @Former-Member

Re: I am struggling at the moment

My heart aches as i read this. You my friend have more than 1 reason to live-you have another inportant reason, it is YOU. Your existance would be cherished more than you could imagine. I know its easy to say "keep your chin up" and that sort of thing, but I have only started learning in the last few months, that my happiness is priority over my childrens and spouse. I mean, if im not truely happy, my family will feel it too.

Talk with your Son. Does he know how you have been feeling? Do you have any close friends that you can confide in?

Im a terrible advice giver, but i have a heart of gold, and my concern is genuine. It saddens me to get a sense of your heartache, and i just want you to know, you are not alone.
