Re: Morning has broken

Thank you @outlander today was a bit better and I spoke to pdoc on the phone which helped. He was disappointed with what happened on Wednesday but said he half expected it and now that it’s over he just said we’ll move forward.

coming home has been harder than I ever expected but it’s not impossible and I do have good support.

I’ll look for some recipes for you. Can you drink Zymil milk? It’s not too bad but I can’t remember if it’s lactose free. I hope you can find a nutritionist / dietician? Can you use the Medicare plan?

I hope you have a good night

Re: Morning has broken

all you can do it keep moving forward @Eve7 therell be setbacks. you have to remember that while hospital has been really good for you it takes a while to adjust back to living in a 'normal' world with freedom, space and having a whole new routine and space to think about things as well.

have you managed to get abit of a routine together to help get through the day a little?

Yes, i can drink zymil milk but only the skim milk. im going to try soy milk as well. he did say my stomach will react to everything still at least for the next few months whether its lactose free or not but its important to be lactose free now otherwise itll just keep flaring up my system over and over again.
i tried the zymilk milk in a cake once and it was digusting. it you ate it basically as soon as it come out of the oven it was ok but as soon as it cooled it had a god awful after taste and flavour.

ive found a nutritionist but shes 150 with no rebate. im suppose to see her on thursday but ill have to see how my finances are esp with no rebate. its alot of money to get abit of help.

Re: Morning has broken

That’s expensive for the nutritionist, make sure you get lots of information so you don’t have to go too often. I didn’t mind zymil but I don’t drink much milk so I usually just go dairy free or my stomach reacts.

I have a bit of a routine and a goal of returning to work before the end of the year. My routine has a fair bit of medical visits in it at present so it’s a bit boring but tomorrow I am going to brekky with friends so fingers crossed that goes well. I am also cleaning out my house fun fun

Re: Morning has broken

i might just cancel it @Eve7
shes suppose to be good but its so expensive esp with hospital bills, pathology bills, loans, and everything else that really needs to be paid first.
i dont really know what to do atm and after todays conversation with some people it makes me feel guilty for even asking for help.

going out for brekky sounds good and a nice change. i know what its like when its endless medical appts.

Re: Morning has broken

Please don’t ever feel guilty asking for help @outlander I can’t believe anyone would make you feel that way grr. It has to be your decision but maybe if you could just go once it would be enough. I had one visit with a dietician last year and she gave me heaps of helpful handouts that I didn’t need to go back.

I’m looking forward to brekky and afterwards Im going to see a movie with S2 and Family.

Re: Morning has broken

Thanks @Eve7 just people adding more and more responsibilities onto me again. i should be doing this or that and then feeling guilty for not doing it.

ill try to get a refferral to someone else instead. i honestly dont want to pay 150 for something thats not really essential atm. if the gp writes a refferral to a dietician rather then nutritionist i should be able to claim the medicare rebate.

sorry ive just taken over your thread 😞

your day sounds nice tomorrow, brekky with friends then movies with family sounds really nice.
what movie are you going to see?

Re: Morning has broken

That’s a good idea and probably why I saw a dietician. The correct eating plan can make such a difference to your life. Those other people in your life could show a bit more care and concern.

No need to apologise. I came here to talk to you as I didn’t want to interrupt your other conversations. It gets tricky sometimes with where we can talk. I hope that came out right ❤️ @outlander

PS We’re going to see The Sound of Music!!!!!
