Not only is it cuppa time @Snowie but I am about to have a shower. I'm a bit ashamed to say when I had the last one but here goes. I'll be back later.
@WIP I'm sorry your visit with your pdoc was so emotional but you are so right we have to be honest even if it means writing it down.
Lots of love xox

@Eve7 Don't be ashamed hon. Sometimes having a shower is such a hard thing to do. Just doing basic things is even hard at times. There are times where I have gone without a shower for days in a row.
The main thing is that you are having one. It can be another thing to tick of your achievement list for today.

@Eve7 It took me a moment to get the logic about God breaking the drought.
LOL If only.

Maybe cars are not meant to be so clean ... and other spaces and places. I remember stories about heating the water for the tub brought out onto the table ... and someone recently told me as we age ... we dont smell as much ... I am sure there is a balance ... but ... I have opted for longer showers with more time between ... hee hee.... justify it by water saving ....wicked!

Hi @Snowie , don't stress about not getting the car washed - it will still work and get you from A to B tomorrow, no matter what it looks like 😉
I have a black car and vowed never to get one again, as originally I had to wash it so often. These days, I don't seem to care so much what it looks like on the outside - it's comfy & functional inside, and that's good enough for me these days!
@Eve7 in DBT class y'day, looking after yourself came up as a topic & how you can let personal hygiene slip as you MH declines. The WHOLE class mentioned not showering for days & the facilitators emphasised that it isn't something to worry about, as you always eventually get there when you are ready. So please don't beat yourself up......I went 2.5 days in my PJs last week, if that makes you feel any better.
Small steps make an accumulative achievement....a quote from from precious psychologist. You're doing the best you can atm & that is more than ENOUGH.

Longer showers seem like a good idea @Appleblossom 😁 Just have to get in the shower in the first place 🤔
@WIP I agree. As long as it gets me from A to B then I am happy with that. Perhaps I could pay one of my kids to wash it!!
Nothing wrong with PJ days either. Have them too.

One of my friends asked why my water rates were so low and I said it’s because I don’t shower @Appleblossom
@WIP thank you for sharing that from your DBT class. That helps when you know you’re not the only one @Snowie
I’m clean now. 💜💙💜

OMG @Eve7 my water usage on my quarterly bill is something like $30(well below a single person average usage).....all the rest is sewerage,
connection, park fees etc.
I hate when I look at the breakdown of my bill - thank goodness it's direct debit!! Ha Ha
@Snowie Great idea! maybe one of your kids would wash the car for some extra $$

I think my teenage daughter showers enough for the both of us @Eve7 @WIP !!
@WIP I think my Son would do it for cash. D has a part time job herself so don't think she would do it.
Glad you are clean now @Eve7 I hope it makes you feel a little better.
Have to take D to work soon. Never seems to end. Have ECT tomorrow morning too.

Oh, good luck with ECT in the morn @Snowie
I admire you for persisting with it, as it must be helping you.
My experience was much different & would never do it again.
It's one of those things, like most treatments for MH - it helps some & others it doesn't.
For me, I got worse.
You go girl....you courageous girl! I hope you get a restful nights sleep before a very early start with ect. I'll be thinking of you.
Hugs 🤗🤗

I am not sure if it is helping @WIP but it is not making me worse.
I certainly do not like the early mornings 😒 I am lucky however that my H takes me every week and picks me up. Without his support I would not be able to do it, or I would have to do it as an inpatient.
I'm sorry you have had such a bad experience with it. It was good of you to give it a go in the first place however. I guess we do not know how it will effect us until we try it.
Will be back soon, got to take D to work now.
