I am 5 treatments into ECT. I have another 7 to go. For this round at least.
Hoping you can get some time to yourself this weekend @Lee82 💜

I hope you don't mind me asking all these questions hun. Let me know if it gets too much.
how have you felt your other rounds of ECT went? Do you have 1 a week?
I have EMDR therapy happening in July but I will need to be hospitalised for 4 weeks whilst doing it. I'm super nervous about it.
My boys are spending all day Sunday with their dad so I will be on my own that day.

No it's ok @Lee82 I am happy to answer your questions.
I have 1 ect session per week, each Friday. Hubby takes me in and picks me up. Luckily he can work from home when I have ECT because that hospital is a good hour away. I have done it before where I did 3 per week but I stayed in hospital for that time. I would rather do it like this, just go in as a day patient once a week and be able to stay at home.
I haven't done EMDR before so I can't help you out with that, but I have spent time in hospital quite a number of times. I hope it all goes well for you hun and the time in hospital is helpful for you.
Hopefully you can do something nice for yourself on Sunday hon 💜

That is so wonderful that you are able to get that type of support hun. I'd prefer to do it as an outpatient too but I was in hospital for 8 weeks when I did ECT but that was a very long time ago now. It didn't really work much for me.
EMDR is something they highly recommend being in hospital for as it is very intense and can initially be traumatising. I will be sure to let you know how it goes.
thanks hun I'm a little worried about being on my own to be honest. It is the first time in a very very long time that I will have a day completely to myself.
Do you have much planned for your weekend? @Snowie

It is easier if I do it as an outpatient @Lee82
It means less stress and burden on Hubby. It takes a toll on him so I try and stay out as much as possible.
I hope for your sake that EMDR works for you. Hopefully being in hospital will help too if it does get traumatising for you. I guess they know what they are talking about.
Have you got any plans for yourself? Perhaps you could plan something, even if it is just at home. A soak in the bath, a movie, a special lunch, perhaps some self care.
I haven't got much planned for the weekend. Food shopping, washing and running the kids around will be my weekend. Such fun 🤔🤔

I really hope it works too hun because I am not living just existing and I hate it. I have recently found out that they deal with each trauma separately which means multiple admissions. I truly hope I don't need to do that.
I think I will have to plan a few things for that day to keep busy cause if I sit and ruminate things get out of hand and I end up in lots of trouble
I hope you can spend sometime on the weekend relaxing too hun. As of next week I will have sport commitments with my kids every weekend so I won't get to have a day off for awhile so I guess I should try and make the most of Sunday.
@Snowie
How are your headaches going after ECT?

That sounds tough @Lee82. I've had a little to do with EMDR- it is a bit of a lengthy process, but I've found it helpful to help take the 'trauma' out of certain situations so I can talk about them relatively calmly. I'd encourage you to speak to your treating professional if you've got concerns though. Hope it all goes well 😊

I get the just existing hun, I often feel like that myself @Lee82 It is a hard place to be in. It is also hard when those thoughts just ruminate in our head. I normally end up in trouble too, so can relate to that too. I hope for your sake that Sunday goes well for you and you are able to enjoy the day.
I hope for your sake that EMDR goes well hun and you get something out of it. Please remember that we will be here for you and that we are only a tag away.

Thank you so very much for your post @TideisTurning I truly appreciate it and would love any information you think is important to know about the process from someone who has experienced it instead of just from my psych's. They have been very informative but obviously they haven't been through the process themselves so don't know truly what it's like.
