Re: Morning has broken

@Eve7 Hon we all make mistakes and get ourselves into situations we would not otherwise find ourselves in if we were not going through so much pain - so do not beat yourself up about that because you are still here and have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. People care about you and this is just a small backward step after so many forward ones - it happens. Breaking your wrist has been massive in the scheme of things and I am not at all surprised you have been feeling low. Just when things had been starting to look up this happened and it has had a big impact on both what you can do as well as you returning to work ...that would all be very difficult to deal with but you are doing it ...bit by bit and little by little each day.

There would never be a time we would 'right you off' Hon - you are important to us here and as hard as life may seem right now there is hope. Your employer is supporting you as well as your family and us here - and ever single one of us knows that you have been through so much over a long time. Hold onto that hope Hon - baby steps

Please also do not for a second believe that you have let anyone down - you are struggling and with that comes both ups and downs. There may have been 'intent' but you are still with us and that matters. I am certainly not going to say life will be better tomorrow (or the next day) but what I can say is that you have the strength and courage withing you to get through this ...that I truly believe as I believe in you

Re: Morning has broken

Thank you for saying that @Zoe7 now I’m crying when I thought I had no more tears.

I’ve known you since I first posted here and you’ve always been wise and kind with your words.

It felt like I was back at square 1 but maybe not. You’re so right about my wrist and it’s impact and yet work still want me there so I am trying hard to deal with what happened and move away from such actions.

My safety plan has to change as so many strategies include the use of both hands.

Is this your last week? I am so proud to know you and see what you have achieved this year. Well done! You’re my role model 💜💜💜

Re: Morning has broken

You are definitely not back to square one @Eve7 Life in general has it's ups and downs no matter whether we are dealing with MI or not. This is just a blip on the radar - something to deal with and get through but also something you have done before. It is healthy to have those negative feelings so long as you understand yourself that you can also work through them ...and that I know you can do 👍

A major injury like you have would be hard for anyone to deal with and combine that with your disappointment and frustration about going back to work is a lot to deal with ....so go easy on yourself.

Look to the good in your life and the wonderfully supportive people you have around you - that really does matter. Lean on those people right now as they want to help and are no doubt happy to do so because they care about you. It is going to be hard for a while with one arm out of action so any assistance you can get accept it. Continue reaching out for help with your mental health also because one can certainly feed off another.

I finish this Friday - 2 more days with the kids then our last day as a staff Friday. I really do need this break - as I am sure every teacher does (especially this year). I am beyond exhausted at the moment and have a lot to deal with so I expect to fall in a heap for a while - but that is okay. Very much needing to put my feet up, sleep and do very little for a while.

Oh gorgeous @Eve7

We would NEVER write you off, never ever. I'm really sorry to learn about what you've been through this week and the pain you are in.
You'll be ok. You're a fighter!

Your pdoc sounds as though he cares a lot about your health and safety (as we do too) which is such a good thing. I'm sure you haven't embarrassed your family, they love you unconditionally. I imagine hurting your wrist so soon after leaving hospital had an impact on your MH - an unexpected hurdle you had to jump. Your wrist will heal, just as you will from this little bump in the road.

Please stay safe, we love you @Eve7

So glad you checked in - thank you!

Lots of gentle hugs
