That's good you're close to the water @Eve7
umm I'm feeling really hurt. Had upsetting confrontation with d. It's hard for her, because her bf isn't comfortable with me. Really strange, because I'm always polite to him and try and make him feel welcome.
Maybe he feels threatened because d and I have always been best friends. Although this year she's gone right away from me. I'm working on it. It's so hurtful though. 😢💜

Toby is amazing @Eve7 He really is the light in my life. Cat is too but she does her own thing most of the time whereas Tobes is always by my side. He has been that way since the moment I met him - he ran straight to me, layed on my lap and that was it ...love at first sight 🐶👍 Cat was the same though - she followed me around the cat centre and I took her home - meant to be also 😺💖
Your sister's dog sounds gorgeous - they do find their own little habits and cute ways of doing things that make every day that little bit better. For me it is coming home - Tobes jumps up and down the hallway on his back legs until I pick him up for a cuddle lol
2 weeks is a long time at this time of the year - so much happening with end of year celebrations, work todo for handover to next year's teachers, reports, and generally keeping the kids learning even though they are sooo tired - at least one ball always in the air whilst trying to juggle the rest. What grades does your niece teach?

I’m so sorry to hear that @Former-Member . Families are complicated at the best of times but it must be super hard when you’ve been close to D.
Being a parent is a tough gig with little support. I hope this can be sorted before Christmas.
Big hugs

My niece teaches Grade 1 and loves her class although she didn’t really cope with online learning but I think that was more the parents! My mum was a teacher too in primary school then she did TESOL with refugees.
My sister is an IT engineer and I am digitally inept. She also has a cat that tries to rule the house not at all like the dog.
I have a stupid bird and that’s being polite!! It has picked up some very rude words since S1 has been around more often. Yesterday it looked at me and said “ gutter talk”! So he does listen to me.

@Eve7 'gutter talk' did make me giggle Hon. I can imagine your bird swearing and then seeing you and saying that lol
My Cat also rules the house - Tobes thinks he does but Cat is always quick to put him in his place if he gets in the way lol I often find Tobes sitting at the gate to Cat's room just looking in at her - he really does love his big sister but she does not pay him any attention at all - typical big sister, little brother behaviour lol He will prtoect her though if there is another cat in our yard - he stands between her and the other cat and barks until it runs away.
I am on a grade 1/2 so we have something in common. They are super cute but hard work. We have some real characters in our class as well as my energiser bunny that does not stop all day - that alone is tiring.
We were very lucky with online learning that it was less than one term - I could imagine in other states how hard it has been doing that ongoing for so much longer. We also had kids at school at the same time (reduced numbers but it meant we were doing class and online learning at the same time - that was tiringtoo). I think that some parents have had expectations we just cannot reach all the time - it has certainly been a challenging year for everyone.
I can imagine your Mum's work with the refugees was both challenging and rewarding - what a wonderful thing to do 😁

Hi @Eve7 😊💞
Glad you are home and appointments and surgery sorted for Tues and Wednesday. Sounds like an enjoyable couple of days visiting your Mum and other family. Would have been much nicer without the pain from your shattered wrist of course. But maybe the distraction of being there, actually helped you get through. It may have been safer for you there than at home. 🌺🙏
Actually your 'stupid' bird sounds quite clever. What type of bird is he/she? Birds can be really great companions. My preference is definitely a dog, but if I could not have a dog, I would not have any problems in having a birdy.
@Former-Member .... that would be so hard losing touch with your daughter. I know how close you've been, and how reliant she has been on you in the past especially regarding her serious health condition. It must be quite heartbreaking to feel you are losing touch with her right now. I imagine not knowing if she is (or will be) properly cared for if her health takes a turn for the worse at any time would also be a big concern for you. I can understand your pain and worry around that. I suspect she is trying to demonstrate her independence, does not want to appear to be relying on her Mum, and wanting to spread her wings a little. Test the waters on her own. All a part of growing up of course. But hard for a loving and worried Mum. You will never lose her though Pippi. Of that I am confident.
