Need advice please (info below).

Need advice please (info below).

Some people I've already told about this, but I'll tag them again just to keep it to one thread. So as the title suggests, I need some advice please.

I saw a MH Nurse in my suburb, and no there's no one else I can see, a MH Nurse or not, where I live. I am seeing a social worker next week so I hope that goes ok, can't be any worse, well I hope not.

I've seen this MH Nurse twice, first time was rushed because he didn't know about it. Second time his whole attitude changed - he was so rude, abrupt and controlling.

He told me I scored a high score, 50 or something, on a K10 test (yes I was being completely honest in my answers), but then he said to me that he thinks I'm faking my mental illnesses. Of course that ISN'T true. My Psychiatrist (who is great, I don't have a problem with him) even sent him stuff with my diagnoseses.

Not only that, but he said that I see my Psychiatrist too much, although he agreed and is happy to see me every 2-3 weeks (he knows I have no other professional help and he told me he told the MH Nurse this), that I expect too much of him and I don't appreciate what he's done for me.

NONE of that is true - I always thank my Psychiatrist, and I appreciate him and what he's done for me, and I tell him this. He agreed to see me every 2-3 weeks, and I don't expect a thing from him. We talk about medication, symptoms, my mood, and whatever else comes up/what he asks me.

I'm so hurt and offended by this, and I feel betrayed by this rude MH Nurse, I wasn't to know this would happen. I feel bad even just typing this out and posting it, but I need to get it off my chest. This has even upset my parents.

Oh also, he called my Psychiatrist behind my back, is trying to call my GP, AND the Headspace centre I went to where I had a bad experience (turns out he used to work there). I told him I DIDN'T want him to do that, and he even called my Mum behind my back. My Psychiatrist has NEVER asked to speak with my parents, although I'd be fine if he did because I know he would ask me.

When I told him what happened at Headspace (I won't go into detail about that, its too triggering), he stood up for them and thought I was lying too.

So, my question is, should I complain? My parents think I should. I'll be telling my Psychiatrist and then taking it from there. I know he won't be happy.

I feel so hurt, betrayed and like my privacy and trust has been taken away. I definitely don't feel comfortable and I don't trust this guy at all. He's going behind my back and doing stuff, bad stuff, and hiding things.

He's trying to get my Psychiatrist to hate me and not see me anymore, and I don't want that. So I hope my psychiatrist doesn't do that.

Please help, any suggestions anyone? I'll probably just cry telling my psychiatrist because this has been so upsetting for me.

And to be honest, before I even saw the MH Nurse, my Psychiatrist told me they spoke over the phone, I said I apologise because I wasn't aware that he would do that, and my psychiatrist looked at me funny and his tone of voice seemed like he didn't like him, without making assumptions. So that in itself says something.

Thanks.

Re: Need advice please (info below).

@NatureLover thanks.

@Former-Member I have told my Psychiatrist about my bad experiences online so webchats etc, and in person, not about this rude MH nurse that I mentioned in the 1st post on this thread, but I'll do that tomorrow.

I've been feeling more depressed etc since I saw this Nurse on the 27th April. That and other things going on but still.

My psychiatrist is helpful and hasn't done anything wrong, I'm just really scared

@BlueBells I meant I tagged you because you were in my notifications today and I tagged everyone who was in there too to apologise for not talking much, and for those of you who haven't read my post I meant read the first post to get an idea of whats going on for me.

Everything's fine with @TAB that was just a misunderstanding and I'm not mad at them, its fine

@Former-Member, I'm wondering how your appointment went today with your psychiatrist? Not asking you to tell details of course, just hoping it was supportive and you got some answers...

@NatureLover @outlander @Pollyotter @Lee82 @Former-Member @Escaped_Goat @Bezak482

@Shaz51 @chibam @Blep @Purplerain and if there's anyone I've missed or anyone else reading this.

My appointment yesterday went ok, good and bad things really.

Good things were that he was mad, disgusted really, in the nurse's behaviour, said that going behind my back is breaking confidentiality of mine and is against the law and he doesn't condone that behaviour, he also said other things that I can't 100% remember about the Nurse but he was appauled by it all. He said - "what, so he actually said, quote un quote, "you're faking it?"" and I said yes, then he said "wow" and so on. He was writing everything down and he seemed angry about it, but I'd say he was angry at the Nurse not me. I hope so anyway.

He's changing my meds and sending my prescription(s) in the mail like he usually does so I'll have to wait for them, I asked if he could fax it to the local Pharmacy because he's done that before and they've usually gotten it straight away aswell as when he does my GP letters. But he appears to be working from home so I'm not sure if he can fax stuff, who knows.

That was all we got to discuss really, I was talking a bit and he asked me to repeat what I said because I was speaking fast and I apologised and said I was anxious. I told him this has really affected me with the Nurse and he said I should complain.

He told me that the Nurse hasn't contacted him in any way since the 1st time I saw this Nurse when they spoke, and I told him I don't want anything to do with the Nurse or any healthcare down where I live because it's atrocious not just the mental health side of things, he said fair enough. I also told him that he can tell the Nurse that and that I don't want him (my psychiatrist) talking to the Nurse or having anything to do with him anymore.

After the session ended, there was a text saying the social worker appointment (which I assume is still over the phone) is on June 1, they said I can call if I need to change it. It seems to be fine at the moment.

However the bad thing is that my Psychiatrist seemed like something was wrong, like he was unwell or on edge or had a bad day, I don't know, it was hard to tell. Normally he fidgets a bit and writes of course like stratches his nose but yesterday he was different like he looked sick or something, looked like he was shivering too.

I doubt he'd have the virus though because he appears to be working from home and staying home, I'm not trying to make assumptions though but he was just a bit different, without being rude, that I noticed, yesterday. It was weird.

I hope I didn't do that to him. That's all we really discussed, well that and some things I should do, but I told him that I can't because of the virus for one, and it's not that easy where I live in a small country town and other places nearby, and I don't know what i want to do, its a lot to take into consideration I said.

I didn't get a chance to ask him about the new meds and other things so I had to email someone who works at the Telehealth company to get them to forward it onto him, and I just said I apologise for being negative and whatnot, and I hope I didn't upset him and that he's ok.

He normally says "well we'll have to leave it there, is there anything else you want to talk to me or ask me about? nice chatting with you" but he didn't, he just said "we'll have to leave it there, nice chatting with you, bye" and smiled (which he usually does which is still polite and professional).

The session was only for 20 mins but it seemed shorter than that, and like he had stuff to do or was unwell or something so he seemed to cut it short, thats the bad thing. I hope I didn't upset him and put him on edge or anything bad. What I mean is he usually gives me a bit more time and doesn't rush me.

I feel a little better but I also don't, the anxiety. But I guess I'll wait and see until I see him again.

Sorry this is long everyone and I haven't been talking. Thanks if you read this and reply.

Hi @CheerBear , haven't seen you in this thread, I guess it bumped up to the top in the part of the forums because there was a new comment?

That's good that your appointment went OK and that he was supportive. I guess the meds change is good also, as you've been struggling...Do you feel OK about the meds change? That's a shame the appointment went quicker than usual, but I'm glad you got some answers. @Former-Member
