does anyone else have trouble accepting the good days?

does anyone else have trouble accepting the good days?

not sure if i'm puttting this post in the right section

but have just been wondering if others experience a relutance or distrust of "good days"

not wanting to talk about with treatment team for a fear of them thinking - yeah cool shes fixed?

it's something that i continue to struggle with. have spoken to team about it and they assure me that i can keep seeing them for as long as i want - but in prepping for my appts (i'm a big list writter) i always feel the need to balance the good with the bad.....

anyone else experience something similar?

So true! Having been in flight flight mode so much of the time it feels strange when the pressure is lifted. And do U sometimes find this is when yr mind wanders? Which at times can be tricky.....

yes definently @HopefulWarrior

when im finding the days ok I actually try to keep busy but not by trying to manage. I try to do the things I like such as craft or having a look at the beach or going for a coastal drive with some good music! It can be quite soul refreshing even if it does feel alittle strange

Yes never any good days no matter what. How to fix it is the biggest problem 😞

Re: does anyone else have trouble accepting the good days?

@HopefulWarrior definitely. I did go through similar feelings as you with one of my psychologists years ago because if I had mostly good days between appointments and was proud of myself for doing well and told him... he would stretch the appointments further apart and I would panic and go downhill. It was a very weird cycle.

The last ten years I get suspicious every time I have good days because I have a pattern of my life going right and then it goes very wrong again. It's always been that way but as I've gotten older it's bothered me more and the worst part of that is I feel I am wasting my good days by worrying instead of enjoying them. Whatever you do.. don't fall into that habit.. it's very hard to get out of.

I am definitely in the habbit, have been for 3yrs or so now. I also find it so much harder now that I am older. I don't know if it's more and more damage that has caused it or if I'm just having a mid life crisis. Either way I 100% relate!! I am always worrying also.

Thank you for sharing your struggles @Escaped_Goat

I do relate to "wasting" the good days but am getting better at catching myself - finding just one thing to be grateful for for example.

The roller coaster you were on does sound tricky. Have fortunately found doctors who keep regular appts.
