Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi, I have just joined. I have a few mental illnesses, but am especially interested in hearing if there are any diagnosed germophobes or people with hoarding disorder on these forums?

I don't know any germophobes in real life, and would be interested to know how any of you pre-Corona germophobes are doing. Can you find enough sanitiser? If not, what are you using instead? Has your germophobia gone sky-high in this pandemic? Do you find it less or more lonely now that nearly everyone is a self-confessed germophobe?

My germophobia is quite bad - I can't have anyone in my house, and need lots of sanitiser when I go out. E.g. I use it after leaving my house and before I get in the car; again before I touch the steering wheel, again after touching my purse, again before putting my seat belt on, etc. I am struggling to find enough sanitiser. If I run out, I was thinking about diluting some disinfectant and putting it into an old water bottle to take out with me. I had one really bad panic lasting 3 days that was debilitating, due to COVID-19, but after that thankfully my germophobia came back down to normal levels. I guess normal levels are not that great but at least I am used to them!

I am strangely finding it more lonely as a diagnosed germophobe now, and would really like to meet some other germophobes online and hear how you're going. At least I had a friend tell me that I was in a stronger position than him, during this health crisis, as he had trouble remembering to wash his hands, whereas I wash them a hundred times a day already!

Lying in the sun sounds just the ticket @NatureLover . Much nicer than the therapeutic light.

Still 3 weeks till my psychologist. I checked the PTV app and might go a different route to the one I first thought of.

Today I treated myself to afternoon tea after being rejected by the blood bank... I wasn't altogether surprised.

Tomorrow is Tuesday... still missing my helper. I'll aim to do a bit in the garden and tackle the livingroom.

Hope you have a good day - enjoy the sun while you can, there's rain coming.

Well done for attempting to give blood, @Dimity. 👍 I gave blood up till my health became too bad.

Were you able to do anything in your garden yesterday with the heavy rain all day?

I need to tidy my desk today as the lists and papers are all over the place. Tidying my desk always makes my mind feel in order too. It's a fairly nice job to do.

Are you planning what to say to your new psychologist in 3 weeks?

Good luck with the living room or whatever you want to tackle today...

I haven't really done anything for several days @NatureLover, I'm in a slump. I'm not sure what I can say to the psychologist. It will be partly up to her, depending on what the gp passed on I guess.

I'm glad you achieved so much today.

Sorry to hear you're in a slump, @Dimity 😢 The gloomy rainy weather wouldn't be helping. I will send wishes you can feel brighter and stronger very soon, preferably today 🤞

I worked hard yesterday but still haven't done the small kitchen bench or my desk! Well, the desk was excusable as I wanted to be active, not sitting. There is a lot to do still, but I have work today.

Sending you hugs and good wishes 💚🫂

Thanks @NatureLover . The weather's not great but it's good to have rain, the garden was drying.

Keep up the good work, with your volunteering and efforts at home.

Glad you've been happy with the rain, @Dimity . You do sound low - am so sorry 😢 Still sending wishes for you.

I have the opthalmologist today which is always tough (I'm sensitive about my eyes, to the point where he can't do all the tests).

Hoping you feel brighter and stronger very soon 💚

Hope you got the necessary tests today @NatureLover as your eyesight is so important. I'm counting down til I'm due for optometrist in November as I hope for new glasses.

I went and voted today, after sleeping very late. It was very quiet.

Wishing you a happy Saturday

@Dimity Well done on voting today when you are feeling so low. I voted yesterday too - it was easy and quick.

I survived my opthalmologist tests, thank you 🙂 Over for another year.

November isn't too long away if your eyesight is getting worse...I hope you can get the new glasses.

My kitchen is unfunctional now so yesterday after voting I went to the local noodle shop and got noodles with vegetables and vegetarian fried rice for food this weekend.

Sending wishes for you to feel brighter and stronger and happier very soon... 💚

@NatureLover @Dimity @Eve7 @Shaz51 @tyme

just saying hi and I hope you are all well. I met up with friends today for a walk in a park. I made a salad today first time since I lost my mum. This forum reminded me to do my taxes and I am going through invoices for this year and it is so triggering after losing mum. I also did the postal vote for the referendum. I was so anxious earlier today I had palpitations. I had to lose my temper just to get all of this done. I am slowly going thru everything. Its like i have adhd or something, but its the trauma and the limited spoons and the fact I have to panic when I get anything done. I live in an old house and the wind blew the scaffolding, but it didnt leak, so I have to find someone to stick it back on. I wont do it myself as it involves a ladder and I cant afford any more drama.

I hope you are all well and sending good vibes to everyone
