Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi, I have just joined. I have a few mental illnesses, but am especially interested in hearing if there are any diagnosed germophobes or people with hoarding disorder on these forums?

I don't know any germophobes in real life, and would be interested to know how any of you pre-Corona germophobes are doing. Can you find enough sanitiser? If not, what are you using instead? Has your germophobia gone sky-high in this pandemic? Do you find it less or more lonely now that nearly everyone is a self-confessed germophobe?

My germophobia is quite bad - I can't have anyone in my house, and need lots of sanitiser when I go out. E.g. I use it after leaving my house and before I get in the car; again before I touch the steering wheel, again after touching my purse, again before putting my seat belt on, etc. I am struggling to find enough sanitiser. If I run out, I was thinking about diluting some disinfectant and putting it into an old water bottle to take out with me. I had one really bad panic lasting 3 days that was debilitating, due to COVID-19, but after that thankfully my germophobia came back down to normal levels. I guess normal levels are not that great but at least I am used to them!

I am strangely finding it more lonely as a diagnosed germophobe now, and would really like to meet some other germophobes online and hear how you're going. At least I had a friend tell me that I was in a stronger position than him, during this health crisis, as he had trouble remembering to wash his hands, whereas I wash them a hundred times a day already!

@Escaped_Goat yes, you wouldn't want to tear off too much of the side and let the soup out.

You realise I am now craving tomato soup in a mini cobb loaf? 😄

I am going to go and wind down soon. I hope the rest of your evening goes OK and that tonight is better than last night (for both of us).

@NatureLover A cheesy mini Cobb loaf I hope! 😂

I think it's time for me to down screens too... hoping nightmare free night tonight for us both.

Sleep well friend

@NatureLover I'm awake too early again. Heater is on and waiting for things to warm up before I get up. What's that old saying? Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise. Must only work on men. Pfft! 😂

I am thinking about my plans for the day. Yesterday did me good but today I need to do things. Shower for sure. Not convinced I'll get a walk in.. we have a severe weather warning for strong winds so we will see how long that lasts. Wash clothes. Finish sewing what I started yesterday. Take in two pair jeans. Clean bathroom. Eat healthy. That's probably going to be enough.

Hope you slept well and are ready to face the day!

Good morning my friend @Escaped_Goat , you sound bright and strong this morning? Or maybe determined would be a better word. I know you can't see your daughter for her birthday today...I hope you can have a good catch-up via phone or video call.

I slept in this morning. Not sure quite how I feel yet but it certainly isn't as determined as you. Nevertheless am going to try and get back into the chores today.

We have strong winds here today too. The sun didn't eventuate yesterday. Have started taking a Vit D tablet every day now - usually I only take them from about July to October, and only on cloudy days. But the weather has been unusually wet for months and I read on the weather site that it's going to continue.

Tomorrow you can start your exercising again! 🙂

@NatureLover determined is the word of the day! On coffee number two. Showered and have cleaned the shower cubicle. I find it easier to do that while I'm in there after a shower. Washing is on.

Had a nice chat with my daughter already.

I think we are in for a very wet winter... to make up for the lack of rain last year. Hopefully the rain will fall where it's needed and not just on the cities. We are getting plenty here but a lot of our local farmers are never happy... too much or not enough... wheat, grapes, oranges, etc. They all want different amounts of rain at different times of the year and different amounts of sun and ohh the frosts we can't forget to moan about the frosts. It's weather people... you get what you get and if you can't roll with it you're in the wrong business! That might sound harsh but I was impressed with all the farmers that were finding solutions rather than just moaning about the weather. Those are the real farmers! How did I get on this track? Wow! So far off track! 😂 😂

Brain all over the place today. No offence farmers!
Yay for tomorrow! Fauxga! My version of yoga 😂 I might even drag the wii out and do some wii sports... that will be gentle enough... wii fitness maybe? I might make a timetable up so I have a dedicated slot for my exercises. Hang the do not disturb sign up 😂

I'm glad you're taking the vitamin D every day... I always look for the supplements I take to go on special... then I buy them so I usually have them before I run out. They can be expensive some of them.
I think I'll have a protein shake for breakfast.. stick some nutrients in me without too much effort. I'm considering the whole bread bowl thing for Sunday... or Monday... I should be finished my existing bread by then. Not sure what soup... I'll have to check ingredients or see if I have any soups in the pantry. I'm not spending anything more on groceries this fortnight if I can avoid it.

Wow! Determined is definitely the word for you! That day off has turbo-charged you!

Glad you've had a nice chat with your daughter. 🙂

I think you're right about a wet winter. I hope the rain lands on drought-affected areas.

A timetable sounds good, although I have one and rarely keep to it. But it gives me the framework for if I'm off track. I agree about buying the supplements on special and having them in advance so as not to pay full price in a hurry.

I'm struggling today...I think I might have to take things an hour at a time.

@NatureLover I'm around if you need any extra support. The day off did me good. I definitely put too much pressure on myself to be perfect 24/7 and I'm far from perfect so I feel guilty about not living up to my own expectations.
