Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi, I have just joined. I have a few mental illnesses, but am especially interested in hearing if there are any diagnosed germophobes or people with hoarding disorder on these forums?

I don't know any germophobes in real life, and would be interested to know how any of you pre-Corona germophobes are doing. Can you find enough sanitiser? If not, what are you using instead? Has your germophobia gone sky-high in this pandemic? Do you find it less or more lonely now that nearly everyone is a self-confessed germophobe?

My germophobia is quite bad - I can't have anyone in my house, and need lots of sanitiser when I go out. E.g. I use it after leaving my house and before I get in the car; again before I touch the steering wheel, again after touching my purse, again before putting my seat belt on, etc. I am struggling to find enough sanitiser. If I run out, I was thinking about diluting some disinfectant and putting it into an old water bottle to take out with me. I had one really bad panic lasting 3 days that was debilitating, due to COVID-19, but after that thankfully my germophobia came back down to normal levels. I guess normal levels are not that great but at least I am used to them!

I am strangely finding it more lonely as a diagnosed germophobe now, and would really like to meet some other germophobes online and hear how you're going. At least I had a friend tell me that I was in a stronger position than him, during this health crisis, as he had trouble remembering to wash his hands, whereas I wash them a hundred times a day already!

Hello dear @NatureLover

Well done on stocking up just in case. Enjoy your trip to the library today. I hope it fills you with joy and you find some perfect books.

I'm quiet yes, I'm so sad. It's difficult seeing my Dad and my Mum in their current situation. I'm a bit empty when it comes to words. I don't have much to offer.

I can't see my boy in hospital, it's completely locked down. I did drop cigarettes in and caught a glimpse of him from afar. That was nice.

Take care, thank you for the coffees and friendship, it means a lot 🌄💚

@Anastasia I was shocked to read your boy's supports aren't back until March! 😮

Does he text you from hospital?

It must be so sad, my dear friend 😞 I really feel for you (and them).

I hope that going in to work today goes well and there are no other colleagues in at work.

Please have some more ☕ and 💚 and hugs from me...

Yes I think it's half the reason why he's in hospital, his last appointment was early December and she cancelled 😔

Frustrating. It upsets me to think that some are only about the money.

My boy calls me every day from hospital @NatureLover 🙏

I ended up going to work yesterday just to get it over with. No one was there and I achieved what I needed to in less time than I thought.

Then I saw Mum and had a heart to heart as Dad was sleeping. Nice as we never get to talk. She's struggling.

They desperately need help, Dads in pain constantly now. The palliative team are on leave but back tomorrow after Christmas so praying he can get pain relief quickly sorted.

Today my only plan is to visit them.

It's supposed to be glorious weather I hope it is there too? Have you had your coffee catch up with friends yet, if so was it nice?

How did you go at the library, lots of books for your soul?

Thank you for the coffee, hugs and love.

Sending them back in abundance to you too dear friend. Enjoy your sunny Sunday 🌄💛☕

@Anastasia is this your boy's psychologist that cancelled in December? I wasn't sure if you meant his support workers were away till March, or his psychologist /psychiatrist...

I'm so sorry your Dad has been in such pain as the palliative care team were on holiday 😞

Well done for going in to work yesterday.

I had one nice lunch catch-up with friends, another one in a week's time if none of us get Covid. Yes, beautiful weather here and less humidity today - it's the humidity that's hard. I'm glad your weather is nice there...

I got 12 books which look OK, a couple of them look excellent. I also have books on order at the library that haven't come through yet. Today I need to clean and tidy and not read. I also want to cook a vegetarian spaghetti bolognese with red lentils, before it gets hot. Need to do some tidying in the kitchen before i have the space to cook.

I hope your Dad can get the palliative care team there tomorrow and some supports in place quickly. Sending wishes...

Thanks for the ☕, hugs and ❤️

Much 💚 to you...

A 4-month gap for your boy's psychologist is huge...I'm really sorry to hear this. @Anastasia 😞 I felt the 5 month gap with my psychologist was hard last year, so this is very bad for your boy as he's feeling so bad. 💔

Yes, the spaghetti bolognese is yummy, you can even eat it cold and it's tasty. And I feel I have enough books (hopefully) for if I catch Covid now (I already had 7 in the house).

Thanks for the fairies, they're much needed as I already feel overwhelmed!

💚☕🌞🌷

I hope that you achieved what you had hoped to achieve @NatureLover

I can't sleep. I've just had a "Sleepytime tea", hopefully it will help. Will go back to bed.in the hope I can drift off.

All the best with work today, I'll be thinking of you 💛

Oh no re lack of sleep, @Anastasia ! Did you manage to get back to sleep???

I did most of what I wanted to yesterday, but not the spaghetti bolognese. Plus I found a lost library book. 👍 The fairies really helped, thank you!

Am crossing fingers for you that the palliative care team come today to see your Dad and Mum. Also for your sleep.

I'm not sure I remember about what the NDIS review decided? Did your boy get all he needed?

Sending wishes, my dear friend 💚

Hello dear @NatureLover what a day!!

My brother got here and lots of tears and I'm happy he's with Mum. I am home now beyond exhausted.

Now we hope he/we get to see Dad.

No details yet around Dad's situation, I guess if we don't hear anything over night then we'll learn more tomorrow.

My boys plan is much more in alignment to his needs. The hard work was all worth it. Very pleased. Now he just has to get out of hospital to use it!

Hugs and love 🤗
