Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi, I have just joined. I have a few mental illnesses, but am especially interested in hearing if there are any diagnosed germophobes or people with hoarding disorder on these forums?

I don't know any germophobes in real life, and would be interested to know how any of you pre-Corona germophobes are doing. Can you find enough sanitiser? If not, what are you using instead? Has your germophobia gone sky-high in this pandemic? Do you find it less or more lonely now that nearly everyone is a self-confessed germophobe?

My germophobia is quite bad - I can't have anyone in my house, and need lots of sanitiser when I go out. E.g. I use it after leaving my house and before I get in the car; again before I touch the steering wheel, again after touching my purse, again before putting my seat belt on, etc. I am struggling to find enough sanitiser. If I run out, I was thinking about diluting some disinfectant and putting it into an old water bottle to take out with me. I had one really bad panic lasting 3 days that was debilitating, due to COVID-19, but after that thankfully my germophobia came back down to normal levels. I guess normal levels are not that great but at least I am used to them!

I am strangely finding it more lonely as a diagnosed germophobe now, and would really like to meet some other germophobes online and hear how you're going. At least I had a friend tell me that I was in a stronger position than him, during this health crisis, as he had trouble remembering to wash his hands, whereas I wash them a hundred times a day already!

Hello @NatureLover

It seems sleep is not going to come easy tonight. I have a lot on my mind and probably should get up and make a tea rather than lie here pondering life.

It's been a mixed bag here. Mostly ok but today I saw my specialist a few days earlier than expected. He has said I do need surgery. The deep infection has not shifted and the headaches are constant now. He wanted to do it this week but it's my boys birthday and I don't want it spoiling what small celebration we can muster with covid. So I'm booked in for the 22nd.

Funny I was trying to find the strength to ask for time off just to catch up on things, and have a break mentally, looks like my request was granted. The Dr said I need 10 days. I'm hoping I bounce back quickly and I can enjoy light duties in the garden and some reading.

I had a wonderful day here Sunday and I finally created my garden bed and porch sitting area that I mentioned to you some time ago. I'm really happy with the results. It's transformed a dumping ground into a lovely area for us.

Sunday being Father's Day knocked.my boy around emotionally and has set him back somewhat. He cancelled his Sunday and tonight's support 😔

Enough of me...

How are you, are you ok NL? I'm concerned you haven't posted. I am certain you are concerned for your family. The situation here is scary. It's also not good there. I'm so sorry you are back in lockdown too.

Please know I'm here to listen if you need a chat. Sending you love, hugs and more sunny days than you know what to do with.

Oh, @Anastasia ! So sorry re your surgery! 😞 He even wanted to do it this week - oh my gosh. Is it brain surgery? And how long will you be in hospital? And what about your boy during that time? No wonder you have a lot on your mind 😞

Does the timing (the 22nd) mean that your 6 week Tafe course will be finished by then and you won't miss any?

I am also sorry that your boy cancelled his supports due to Father's Day 😞 Which day is his birthday? (OK if you'd rather not say) I really hope that he feels much better by then...

So pleased 🙂

I posted on some new members' threads but not on this one or yours as I knew you were taking the weekend away. To be honest I'm really struggling. I've hurt my back and am trying to cope - taking painkillers first thing in the morning. Thankfully my heel and arch pain has eased slightly, either that or the back pain has taken over! And my SAD is bad - can hardly face anything. However I did manage to get to work yesterday by a miracle and a herculean effort. I was only half functioning and made lots of mistakes. But it was good to see everyone and catch up on some work. Every day is different and I have no idea if it'll be a bad day or an impossible-to-function day, so I wanted to catch up on as much work as possible yesterday.

I really don't know how to cope with the back pain other than to try to keep moving, which I read somewhere. The lockdown is OK for me, no need to worry about me with that unless they bring in harsher restrictions, which they are considering I heard. Yes, I'm concerned for my family but they are just out of Sydney so with less cases than are around you.

This gave me a smile. Thanks heaps for this and for your love and hugs.

This post has taken me ages as my brain is so slow and fuzzy. I managed to have breakfast during it though which is good. I am concerned for you and your boy...sending much 💚 and hugs and care. Thanks for updating me...I hope you got some sleep after your post in the middle of the night.

Oh I am so sorry to hear about your back and SAD. I am sad for you @NatureLover I am hoping for healing, quickly please Universe for you, you deserve that 🙏

I think you are beyond amazing getting to work with how you are feeling. It's a testiment to your character. Go you!!!

We all make mistakes. Pftt I'm certain they were happy to have you and would have forgotten or perhaps not even noticed any mistakes.

The last thing I want to do is add to your worries. I'll be fine. I am actually looking forward to the time off. I really need it. I am tired of juggling daily and this way I can just rest and do what is necessary each day without work.

No it's not brain but the infection is deep in my sinuses too close to my brain and the risk is it escapes. The headaches are a sign that things aren't good. I'll be ok. I have to be but I'm scared and want the 22nd here quickly. He wants to have me out the same day but said prepare for overnight. With covid he doesn't want me there a minute more than necessary.

My boys birthday is next Monday. 🎁💙

Tafe is Mondays so I should be ok to attend. It is virtual and I can let the teacher know I'll leave my camera off that night. I might look bruised and swollen.

I'm pleased to hear your family are ok.

Please don't feel obligated to respond. I just wanted to write back whilst you might still be here. Promise you'll take care of you. I have you in my thoughts and heart x

Sorry I missed you yesterday, @Anastasia . I just want to say how grateful I am for your support...it means a lot.

I prefer to know how things are for you so I can worry correctly and send accurate wishes! So I hope you will be honest about how things are.

Ah...the sinuses are in the nose area? That is indeed close to the brain. 😞

I went to the GP about my back yesterday and she prescribed stronger painkillers and said if it gets worse, to come back. My aim is to make it in to work tomorrow if possible, otherwise I get too behind with the work and it's hard to catch up.

I'm hoping your boy has a better day today and is able to recover from Father's Day soon...

Much green, vibrant 💚

😄

Hello @NatureLover

Oh I am thinking you made it to work today, yes 🤞🙏☀️

I can out imagine the depth you are digging right now to get there from living with my boy and seeing how hard it can be to dig some days. Either way if you did or didn't make it you did the best for you 💚

I'm pleased you saw your Dr, I am hoping the painkillers assist a great deal 🙏

My boys still bedridden, three supports missed now 😔

One new one set up and a second one to get in touch with me so I'm doing what I can 🙏

Much love to you sweetheart, take care ☀️🌄🌻💚

Hi @Anastasia ...I don't work on Wednesdays, it's tomorrow...am hoping I wake up in a coping frame of mind! Thank you for understanding how difficult and sometimes impossible it is to function.

Oh gosh...that's not good, am sorry to hear. 😞 Good idea to set up some more supports. Am sending wishes that he will be ready very soon to access his supports again...

The painkillers for my back aren't doing much, to be honest...but I'm trying to keep moving as they recommend it.

You haven't said how you're doing, but with your boy in bed I'm guessing things are very hard, and that you're very tired as you said yesterday, that you need the break from the 22nd onwards. P.S. Just went looking and saw that you feel overwhelmed and emotional and are trying to arrange your hospital visit...and with a migraine 😞 Sending wishes for you to get through today and then be able to rest this evening, and also sleep tonight.

Thank you @NatureLover

Oh silly me tomorrow of course. I am a little vague at present 😳

Well I have you in my heart to get there tomorrow and for it to be a good day for you. I'm sorry to learn the meds aren't doing much, arghhh I wish I had some magic dust. Sending hope that they kick in tonight 🙏

Yes I had a meltdown earlier. Ended up talking to my favourite SANE councillor, she's beautiful. Felt better afterwards. I can't tell my family how scared I am about my health and the possiblity that Covid could stop my admission because I don't want them to worry. I just need to rely on our friend the Universe to take care of things and focus on today.

It's after 5 and my tanks empty so I'm going to sign off. Love ang hugs and strength and painless days ahead dear NL

💕🤗✔️💪💛💚

Oh and SUN, lots and lots of it xox☀️🌄🌞

I'm glad you got to talk to your favourite SANE counsellor, just when you needed, how amazing. That's a lot of worry for you between now and the 22nd, about whether Covid could prevent your admission 😞 I am really hoping not. Also that you can 'focus on today' as much as possible...sending wishes to the Universe.

You'll be pleased to know today is going to be sunny and 23! 😮 I'm in a lot of pain but am going to try to get to work today.

I appreciate your listening and wishes and care more than I can say.

Sending lots of 💚, hugs, wishes and care back.

23, beautiful weather! 😎🔆🍦

I hope your work day went well and the back pain has diminished somewhat, in fact all together would be good 🙏🤞✔️

My day has been busy with making sure I have my ducks in a row with work prior to the 22nd so I guess time will fly even more so.

FriYay tomorrow 😃

Thinking of you 🤗
