Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi, I have just joined. I have a few mental illnesses, but am especially interested in hearing if there are any diagnosed germophobes or people with hoarding disorder on these forums?

I don't know any germophobes in real life, and would be interested to know how any of you pre-Corona germophobes are doing. Can you find enough sanitiser? If not, what are you using instead? Has your germophobia gone sky-high in this pandemic? Do you find it less or more lonely now that nearly everyone is a self-confessed germophobe?

My germophobia is quite bad - I can't have anyone in my house, and need lots of sanitiser when I go out. E.g. I use it after leaving my house and before I get in the car; again before I touch the steering wheel, again after touching my purse, again before putting my seat belt on, etc. I am struggling to find enough sanitiser. If I run out, I was thinking about diluting some disinfectant and putting it into an old water bottle to take out with me. I had one really bad panic lasting 3 days that was debilitating, due to COVID-19, but after that thankfully my germophobia came back down to normal levels. I guess normal levels are not that great but at least I am used to them!

I am strangely finding it more lonely as a diagnosed germophobe now, and would really like to meet some other germophobes online and hear how you're going. At least I had a friend tell me that I was in a stronger position than him, during this health crisis, as he had trouble remembering to wash his hands, whereas I wash them a hundred times a day already!

Thank you for your kind words, lovely @Anastasia . I'm sorry that you had to type your news to me when you no doubt have already typed it for all the others. But I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate it...I always want to know how you're doing, and I feel disconnected staying on my thread, so it was great to read your news.

Am really pleased to hear of the breakthrough with your boy. Sorry though that you haven't been feeling well...is it your heart?

I hadn't realised you had a furbaby! I hope the garden leak gets fixed very soon...sounds messy 😞

My workplace is still going much better, thanks. I'm having to bounce around awkwardly between 2 computers in short bursts when the staff aren't using them, as I can't get onto the third computer which I always used to work on, in case the CEO's wife happens to need it(!). However, she is stil being much nicer to everyone, so that's been really good and has caused the bursitis pain in my shoulders to ease, I'm sure of it.

Easter seems a while away, I hope you can get the time off for your Dad's birthday.

Sendinmg you much 💙 and wishes...

Thanks for missing me, dear @Emelia8

I'm pretty anxious today but have been trying to meditate in the way I do it (without a structure to it).

Has your furbaby had her stitches out yet? When do they come out?

Sending much💜

I'm glad you have the overcast day as I know you hate the heat @outlander .

I'm OK, pretty anxious but it's OK, am working on it.

Plus I have some good news in that I was able to get in within 2 days for an eye test tomorrow for reading glasses. The computer screen at work and small-print books are blurry. I had been putting off getting reading glasses but now I'm looking forward to it.

Have you had your pain specialist appt yet? 💙

Yes @NatureLover Holly had sutures removed last Wednesday.

Good to hear you are booked to see optometrist. I saw mine two Wednesdays ago. My close vision has deteriorated quite a lot. Picked up nrw glasses last Friday.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

do you want to talk about whats making you anxious? @NatureLover

i have an eye test tomorrow! ive had my same frames for around 12 years now! i might even upgrade, i usually just change the lenses when they need upgrading (usually every 2-3 years i go for checkups unless i have a reason) ive had these reading glasses since year 8!

i see the pain specialist next friday providing they dont cancel on me again :face_with_rolling_eyes:

Hello lovely @NatureLover

Not at all. I enjoy communicating with you and most of what I talked to you about I hadn't written elsewhere. J had a few days where I just didn't have the "strength" to communicate. Sounds silly but I was mentally taxed. Anyway, like I said it's nice popping in here 💞

No heart seems ok...sorry an update I should have told you. Cholesterol silly high but Dr said do what I can is hereditary and will need meds in future. So not going anywhere anytime soon 🤞

Yes, furbaby is adorable. I have a real connection, he talks to me with his eyes. Love him to bits.

Bf cleaned up garden for.me over the weekend and he seems to think neighbours must have fixed. Fingers crossed again 🤞

Oh I am so happy she is still treating you well. Perhaps whatever was causing her behaviour has been rectified?

Yes I have Dad's birthday off and the day before!!! Excited to take him somewhere special 💕

At work so better keep going. Love and hugs and it's good you're back after a couple of days xxx
