Numb again

I have tried contacting online support but everything is unavailable or offline .

I was raped 7 years ago and things happen so I made myself numb and supprised everything. I learned about the breathing techniques as well as the 5,4,3,2,1 tool. Tonight it's not working . I am having flash backs like crazy and I can't get my mind and body to calm down to relax and sleep . At this stage I am in for a night of night terrors and I can't do that again tonight. I am shutting down again but not sure how to stop it .

Not an odd question at all @Pollyotter I would personally take my time to get to know this woman - don't jump in too quickly but also let her know you like her and like talking to her. I would not disclose anything really personal though - that kind of trust takes time to build up. Get to know each other first, share those moments that are exciting and new between you both and see where it leads. I do firmly believe that if this is the right woman and anything develops then those harder conversations will happen later once there is trust between you. I would also say - have fun - any new friendship or relationship is exciting and can make you feel like you have been lifted up and can fly on your own - enjoy that feeling because you deserve it. Try not to dwell on the past or worry about what may happen if you tell her one day - just live in the moment, enjoy her company and see what happens.
