Re: Maintaining a gealthy weight
I can relate to the weight gain, eating and lack of energy. I've put 20kg on in the last 6 months - and my psychiatrist says it's not the meds. I personally think it is the severe depression and the lack of energy, combined with comfort eating as a source of being kind to myself. I've gone from being an exercise junkie to a couch potato. I would wish that self care, cooking and exercise was part of the program but in 30min with the psych there's not much I can cover.
I'm looking at all sorts of programs like couch to 5k, start walking, is Zumba still about, or gentle water aerobics? There is so much out there to try and you might find something you enjoy - the most important thing is to enjoy it. I'm trying not to be hard on myself and just do what I can, just start something, even 5min of walking.
You could also try and join weight watchers or some other group, where you have like minded people and you learn about nutrition and they also encourage exercise. Just don't give up.
If you can go off the meds that's great, for me that's not an option so I'm trying to work with what I have.

Maybe track what you snack on and swap biscuits with nuts and or fresh fruit. Swap milky coffee with black coffee. Whatever you enjoy find the healthy food you love and try to stick to that. Good luck
