Workplace sexual harassment

Workplace sexual harassment

Hi everyone

I work in a Small shop.
I found out tiday thst the locum pharmacist we have had made physical contact with my friend.
he is older than us prob in his 60's. He loves to make sexual comments and jokes.
I don't like him. I just have this horrible feeling.
I'm working with him alone Monday from 4pm to close 5.30om. And alone in the morning for 1/2 hour.
I was shocked when my friend told me.
if he does something to me I will freak. I'm already anxious. My friend was too scared to come to wirk tiday. But she did and tried very hard to keep away frim him.
he's too much in your face. When he speaks to me he's very close.
Im very anxious. Feel sick just thinking of this creep. We're having him fir 3 more weeks.
what should we do?

It would be good to tell someone without upsetting the whole workplace which is hard

@opinions2019dec, @BlueBay , years ago when i was way younger i did not like a certain person hugging me as he had no underpants , just shorts

Re: Workplace sexual harassment

Hello all @BlueBay @Shaz51 @opinions2019dec @Owlunar @Molliex

Things seem to have got rather heated here and I think that it is possible that some misunderstandings may have occurred. Equally, as @Shaz51 says – differences of opinion do occur!

@opinions2019dec I can see that Bluebay is concerned about the behaviour of one particular man that she has been working with but I'm not sure that I've read anything that implied a critcism of all men. Experiences of sexiual harassment/abuse can be really hard to deal with anywhere. When people are concerned about this occurring in their workplace it can be particularly distressing as most people really want to hold on to their jobs and to feel safe there!

It's important to let people share their concerns and to be respectful of differences. @BlueBay if after reflection you still want us to remove this thread, please let us know via email: team@saneforums.org

Take care all,
Eucalypt

@Shaz51

"my sister'?? Sounds like gang-up here.

when telling stories tell them in detail because people may get the wrong idea.

"no underpants", did you ask him and he told you? this it i mean by detail in posts. You can still take this person to court if it heavily effects your life to date.

Re: Workplace sexual harassment

Hi @Shaz51 @Owlunar @Molliex @Maggie

i saw my dictir this morning and I told him what's going on with work. He said to be aware but stay safe. He will support me if anything was to happen. But he says to try and not get too anxious about it. I told him that you should be able to feel comfortable and safe at wirk to which he totally agreed.
I'm a bit overwhelmed and not sure if I should post anymore on here.

Re: Workplace sexual harassment

Hi @BlueBay

You can post here of course BlueBay - I don't have a problem with it - and I can't see why anyone would because it's a vital issue that many of us face at times -

But if you want to delete anything you have posted yourself you can click on post options at the top left of your message and edit what you have written - just delete or change what you want to

But imo you haven't posted anything inappropriate - you know I will always tell you the truth and that's okay - your posts have been okay

I wrote about your situation on another thread - "a long rave" I think - just go ahead and post what you are feeling as you always have

And all the best with the rest of the time this creep is about - that's what we are here for
