Something’s not right

Son2

Son2

Hi everyone something happened last night with son2. It has been coming for awhile and no one is surprised least of all me as I have been makint excuses for months now .... one of his voices threatened me in a very violent way. Luckily he could talk the voice down and my daughter was here but nonetheless it has made me realise that son2 will have to go to a group home in the near future.

He is too big for me to handle when he gets out of control angry and the voices are at him. It just makes me sad that I will never be able to fix him. He will always have these nasty voices at him regardless of medications. He will never be totally free and will always be paranoid and thinking his family are out to get him.

It is so unfair. I could kid myself when he was younger that I could fix his problems. But it is impossible. I can't make it better and being a mum you are meant to be able to fix things for your children and I cannot. I feel a total failure...

It just hurts so much. Thinking bad thoughts tonight. Bad thoughts are surrounding me. Life shouldnt hold so much pain.

Re: Son2

@Bunniekins well if he is old enough...... of course i understand he may not be able to be a functioning adult in the same sense that we usually use the term but I guess i was wondering if he himself has any desire to be an independant adult? because if he does and if he is against the idea of being in care I wonder if you could frame it in a way to him that it was less like being put in an old peoples home and more like a step to being independant if that makes sense? it was more an idea of a way to soften him into the idea of going as you said he didnt want to..... it is complicated of course but I guess if you and your other child/children are not able to control/defend yourselves if the worst case was to happen then it is probably best to consider these things while you do still have control as these things often take such a long time to organise. I do feel for you in having to make these decisions though it is not easy and as someone with a close family member who is not able to fucntion but is unaware of their own limitations who may have to be put into care at some stage i can imagine some of the feelings but of course i imagine it to be different as the parent.

I hope you are taking care of yourself and still managing to do life stuff but do remember to ask for help from those around you if you do need it.

Re: Son2@

Good morning @Bunniekins

Really glad to hear that you are doing okay this morning, despite the very understandable sadness involved in all this. Such a tough decision, but one made with the best interests in mind for both your son and yourself. I'm also glad that you have found the suicide prevention online service helpful. There are certainly times we need all the help we can get. The Sane community is also definitely here to support you, in whatever way we can. Hardly surprising that ... as you have supported so many of us over a long period of time. I hope today goes well for you all, and that you too are able to find some moments of calm and peace. Our dear Pea needs a bit of peace. Love to you. And hi also to @Meowmy @Molliex @Eden1919 @outlander
