Re: Sleeping too much
F&H, hope you caught up some sleep? I did, drips & drabs. Too much. Felt for you thou but hope you silence your devices when youre ready to sleep. Did D3 make it to school? x6 weeks will go quickly this time of year. Maybe have the odd energising activity on the weekends for her to look forward to. You probably thought of that.

Yeah .... pulling all stops to give her other things to distract her and bring in some joy .... being a bridesmaid for her sister is keeping her from sinking .... she has to be well for that .... and the prep is happening side by side with the school term .... she doesn't want to sink her boat for the wedding which means she has to keep it afloat for school .... quite an amazing situation really .... a God-send 😉

Re: Sleeping too much
not sure which reply to tap ( reply or quick reply) so doing quick. And my profile picture is done, if approved, FINALLY. Its a picture of a tawney frogmouth owl, for obvious reasons. Not very colourful but it will do.
@Faith-and-Hope, not sure about EMDR, but researching it. Sounds familiar to NLP which I don't like because it messes with your subconscious without your conscious awareness, I think. Don't trust ANYBODY with that power over me. My former husband (psych major), studied this and I know he used it unethically, he bragged about it.
Actually struggling trusting my psychologist at the moment. She seemed a bit defensive about my faith (why do they act as if your pushing it on them when you're not), its a big part of who I am and what I do, how I socialise so its extremely difficult not to bring up. Leaving I had to ask her to make another appointment which she seems surprised at. anyway, years gone by I'd quit.
oh just realised this is 'quick reply' and a test run so better post, see what happens. Ahhh!

OK, typing a message on normal 'reply' like posting the pictures. Think I'm doing pretty good. Love Winnie the Pooh characters. Nearly used Eor, donkey as my profile pic but doing my bit for the Tawney Frogmouth. I feel like donkey, depression..... dysthimea ?spelling. (no spell correct here, ar help!)
Anyway, got my library hire movies for the week (don't get tv reception), finally posted a profile picture, got out of the house, went to ladies KYB study group and now have to go because the library is about to close. I'm the only one left.
catch up later 🙂

Your Tawney Frogmouth is up, and it's gorgeous ❣
Note on EDMR below .... I have heard of it used with children ... can't quite remember what for .... but possibly for the settling down of erratic or disruptive behaviour patterns that were distressing them ....
It involved bouncing a tennis ball against the ground next to a wall, so it bounced also off the wall in a triangular pattern and back into the hand of the pre-teen child with their attention fully on it, while the therapist discussed the behaviour with the child ....
I do remember the child and their family were thrilled with the results .... bearing in mind of course that you will need more reassurance than my half-momory of something .... lol ..... but just saying it's not just for ptsd ....
❤️🌷

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy developed by Francine Shapiro that emphasizes disturbing memories as the cause of psychopathology.[1][2] It is used to help with the symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).[3] According to Shapiro, when a traumatic or distressing experience occurs, it may overwhelm normal coping mechanisms. The memory and associated stimuli are inadequately processed and stored in an isolated memory network.[1]
EMDR therapy is better than no treatment and similar in efficacy to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in chronic PTSD.[4][5]
The goal of EMDR is to reduce the long-lasting effects of distressing memories by engaging the brain's natural adaptive information processing mechanisms thereby relieving present symptoms. The therapy uses an eight-phase approach that includes having the patient recall distressing images while receiving one of several types of bilateral sensory input, such as side to side eye movements.[6] EMDR was originally developed to treat adults with PTSD; however, it is also used to treat other conditions and children.[7]
