Hi @Missinformation
Thank you for taking the time to post in SANE Forums.
I'm tremendously disappointed that you've had this expeirence through SANE Australia.
So yourself and others are clear, I will start a new thread in 'About the forum, including feedback and news' outlining SANE's process of creating factsheets and other content.
Kind Regards,
Nik

@Misinfomation, can you name just one 'misinformation' you're being very general. Although I question many methods in psychiatric practise (and labelling), I have found SANE look at the bigger picture of mental health and their Factsheets are very informative averall. I too have worked in the health care system many years, plus have up front close and personal experience with Mental Health pathology rife in my family, and personal life. Your post here is very 'random' (out of context and in the wrong place). There's another section in the forums for issues such as this, as @NikNik has pointed out - perhaps she can move your post over there.

Thank you, Nik Nik. Unfortuntely, outlining where you get your misinformation from and how you collate it would not seem to be a very useful exercise - I would have thought correcting the misinformation would have been the better option, if you don't mind me being blunt.

Re: Sleeping too much
Sure. This is from the 'How to help in a crisis' factsheet:
"However, they may decide that hospitalisation is necessary to ensure the best care." - this is 'incorrect' inasmuch as psychiatric wards at this point in history are, mostly, crushing and traumatising environments and the wards are also locked; thus, psychiatric ward incarceration in itself does not amount to 'good care'. Psychiatric incarceration, in theory, is to ensure that the patient is forced to get the medication he/she 'needs' - in fact, community treatment would be better, with a largely, or completely, non-medication therapy solution.
As for posting my original post in the appropriate place, there is obviously no designated spot for such a post but forum participants and readers should be aware that there are, unfortunately, quite dangerous amounts and types of misinformation at this site (sorry to be so blunt again, Nik Nik), and no, Nik Nik did not suggest another online spot at the website for my post to go instead, although I can see that she may have intended to imply it.

Tawney, i'm sorry to sound so officious in my reply but, anyway, I hope the information speaks for itself.
