Re: Sleeping too much
Morning @Former-Member 😊
I saw you were up really early. I hope you can get a nap in later today ....
I try to do a bit of a tally on sleep hours and put together at least 6hrs, which mostly happens, but try to bump it up to 8hrs with an afternoon nap. If that's not possible, then the next objective is to balance out "high tides" across the day with "low tides" in there too ... meaning periods of full-on activity with periods of retreat into my room (or elsewhere, like coffee shop or riverside) for low activity time.
It seems to be a balance that works, and I'm less "leaky" like that ....but "leaky." is okay when there's stuff that needs to leak out .... healing leaky ....
🙂💧🌷
I think that if WH wasn't going away as regularly as he is, we would all have fallen into a heap this year .... his unwell behaviours and attitudes have been impacting so much it drained us all. The moments of joy were not enough to counter-weigh the pressures. This way we get to see him, spend a bit of time with him, he's coming and going from his "happy place" so having far fewer mood swings around us when he's here ... so there are more moments of joy .... and he is coming back to our sense of balance, rather than our sense of imbalance ....
I hope that makes sense .... 😏
The "bagging" bit is not because he believes I am a horrible person or anything. It's just that it can't be hidden that he is spending a lot of time away from home, and when he is here there is a formality about the way we interact that reveals a lack of connectivity to anyone close enough to us to see it ... 😔
I suspect he is handing out the same story to anyone who enquires that apparently he did to our family doctor from early on .... that I am jealous of his "successful" weight loss achievements, and trying to sabotage his maintenance of them, instead of getting on board and supporting him. That explanation is believable, if you don't know the underlying truth ... :face_with_rolling_eyes:
It is only as people find out that he is unwell, and that his "success" is undoing his health, that how I am responding will be understood for what it is. To try to defend or justify that now will only undo the balances we have in place, and cause it all to go down ... including wedding plans, 21st party, D3 graduation, S2 new start at uni, travel plans across Christmas / New Year (we have inherited a family property overseas), and everything else within range.
Internet means I can travel but still be in touch with you here btw .... 😄💕
And somewhere along the way it seems he is set to come to a breakdown ☹️😥😔 ... I have been told again and again that what he is doing is not sustainable .... so I have to focus on making the best we can of everything such as the 18th, 21st, wedding, graduation, etc to keep from focusing on all the potential "what if's ?" . I am not in control of them anyway :face_with_rolling_eyes:
It feels like we can't get on with life because we are waiting for the crash .... but fortunately in that sense, life is coming to us .... there is too much to do for these upcoming events to sit around waiting when that crash might yet be another six months away, or longer ... and not embracing these things in the best way we can means we are allowing the illness to take them away from us ..... not happening if I can help it .... ❣
When he is well again, he will know how much we fought to salvage what we could ... 🌷💜
There is hope, and promise, and stability, just in getting up and doing the things that make life happen .... in making joy count. You may not think it matters, but you are providing stability in your S1's life, just knowing that you are getting up and on with life each day ... getting the clover mowed .... getting to your KYB meetings .... getting to his graduation and making that as wonderful a day as you could .... 😊💕
And there will be others drawing comfort from your example, without you even knowing about it, because I expect you come across as strong and determined. Those CF women are probably a bit in awe of you .... but unsure about how to deal with the raw feelings .... so better to be blobs about it rather than engage .... but they will be taking notes anyway ....🎧❣
Most people turn into blobs when they don't know how to progress .... but I just see that as a way of treading water until they can find some motivation or observe an example of what else they can do, or at least try .... and they may need to try again and again .... you're showing them how it's done @Former-Member ,.. and motivating us too ...... ❣🌷💕❤️💐

Re: Sleeping too much
Morning @TAB. You don't sleep either! I must admit when I first started on here I was only sleeping a few hours a day/night. You just made me realise I'm sleeping much better. I love Sunday's when I know I don't have to wake up for anything and get to wake up naturally. Very happy for my 9 hours uninterrupted sleep l last night. Need to put that in my record book.
How are you, have any plans for today?
