I hope you have a nice day and that everyone else here does too.
I need to get moving, school run.

Re: Sleeping too much
Hi guys, just need some co today. Woke up physically heavy and achy today and concerned about things my son. Lack of sleep probably not helping. Maybe ate something wrong yesterday.
Concerned about a few things my son said on the weekend:
(1) his childhood left him unable to cope with life as well as most (I shelved how I 'feel' as he spoke - to better listen, but it hurts as a failure as I always want the best for him)
(2) hes getting rid of things & refusing gifts (deliberately he says, to scale back to a single room capacity for 'share' housing to save $).
(3) he had lost weight
(4) "mornings are the worst" he said, he teared up saying how much he misses his partner of 5+ years. Apparently she doesn't like that he's a 'home bod' and thinks he 'lacks ambition' - he didn't like that she was so consumed by her 12hr day job and and gymnastics teaching and her family it seemed she didnt want to be home with him. (this concerns me that its neg on him)
(5) he is deeply concerned for his dad who's lost even more weight, ageing rapidly this last 6months and giving away things (interpreted son as saying goodbye - another pending loss)
I'm scares for my boy, that he struggles with so many big life stresses (which my own MI struggles has added to) and that he feels so alone in the world, especially now. He has had an episode of SI (major depression) 4yrs back.
I'm frightened for him, how he will cope. He might be fine. The thing is I DON'T KNOW, & I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO TO HELP him more accept stay on an even keel myself (not 'lose the plot again & end up in hospital where, bwing my closest relative he gets worrying ph calls from health professionals). The only money I can help him with is in my estate which, if I left today - would it really help? Its not nice to have the thought he'd be better off with a lousy 150k than having me around.
I've lost a friend to suicide (many years back, seen it in hospital, with friends, in myself and on here. Its real. But don't know, if he's at risk. What more can I do? I'm too scared to ask outright. Part of me just wants to resolve that its inevitable and life sucks and is too painful to sit and wait for more. Need some strength to not be hooked by those aweful thoughts. Get a backbone, somehow.
Sorry to be gloomy, don't want to depress anyone, just need to tell someone strong enough to help me be objective. I am planning a good w'end with my son, see his unit and do the 'Walk to Remember' together.

Re: Sleeping too much
Thanks @tab, is that me or S1 you think needd to 'get out more'? He works x5 days a week in an office with 10 others. Doing well. Likes his flat but thinks he might try live in his car a while re expense grr. He has 4 or 5 friends in Brissy, already had them for dinner party. Wish I could afford to move closer.
How are you today? Whens new job start?

Re: Sleeping too much
@Former-Member I agree with @TAB
It hurts that his childhood wasnt 100% ... but there is not a person on the planet who had one. He will get over that. It sounds like he is digging deep and figuring out what his values actually are. I really like the sound of that. Remember the retired magistrate I was chatting to last Friday. Some people in the field of law have social consciences, some are corporate grooopies. Congratulations on making one of the better kind. A toast to you Madame.
Yep the best you can do is not lose the plot and be there for him. Dont let yourself go full bore into guilt and anxiety tho .. your son has tasted good things and is in a postion to have a good life ... if his wise old mamma hangs around .. doing her thing ... maybe a bit batty .. like me ..lol ... but showing him how to make choices for life ...he doesnt need your house .... he can get his own if he wants ... REALLY.
I have had MANY thoughts like that too ... at least I will leave them the house etc .. but my daughter has a house on choice real estate. My son would cave in .. if I left him the house .. Our sons need to know that we worked and loved and can PLAY NICELY ... IN SPITE OF OUR GRIEFS ..so they can allow themselves those things in life...
without only bitterness which is the legacy of you know what.
I am bit down too.
I called my brother and will call every day now. They havent let him out of ICU as his heart is too weak and there is not enough blood pressure. At least he is getting nursing care as his wife is utterly hopeless. Sad but true.
I cheered myself up looking for a pic for @Former-Member 's garden so I will post it for you.
Hope you can handle the dark humour in this pick which I also gave to @Queenie

Re: Sleeping too much
be the designer-husband his gf was looking for ..... can't be pigeion-holed into being someone he's not ..... and it will hurt ..... and he will work through it.
And probably his grief over this lost relationship is triggering some unresolved grief for his sister .... and that's natural too .....
And it's causing him to revisit his relationships with his family ..... and that's natural too ..... and he's doing it @Former-Member ..... but it takes time, and it takes feeling the feelings and processing it all.
Just be available to him, as you are ..... but don't panic. It will upset him if you are panicking about him and he will feel the need to withdraw from that.
Breathe ...... ❤️💕
