Re: Sleeping too much
Being at home is OK, thanks for asking @PeppiPatty, kind of miss other souls around to think about and love & do things for etc. I think too much about my own pain on my own, and lay around more, and generally 'nothing matters here' so guess I'm soso.
Bit jealous of your moderate weather there in WA. but managing OK here with my fans, water atomiser, wet teatowlels and fridge water.
Mum just rang, so gotta go 'debrief' myself over that (grr) poor mum. xox

Yes @Former-Member .... I have been there before. It was a long time ago now, but I had to do a lot of working out in my early marriage situation and get myself out and back in top. Think it was all part of establishing my "recovery identity". There was a large part of me feeling like I didn't have a voice, and needed one. When I did find that voice, I roared with it for a while .... then found a better balance ....
I am reading what you are saying as back-wash from the last couple of weeks .... it's going to take a little while now to get out what you stuffed down in there while you were so busy getting on with the practical stuff, and trying not to react to the hurtful things that were also going on.
Now comes the crying part, the part where your "inner family" - all the parts that make up the beautiful person you are - are starting to express their suppressed feelings. Your Inner Child is one of them. Think you've got a Peaceful Warrior on board .... I know I have. Mine is a big part of me these days, but I reckon she was one doing a lot of my crying when things were really tough for me back then. My Artiste was being crushed in the circumstances too, and my Health Guru .... I needed to work out how to honour them and strengthen them, and bring them to the fore in my life.
I can see some of that happening in WH during this time now. His Health Guru has become over-enthusiastic, but that sub-personality must have been in a cage in him somewhere there for many years. And his Inner Children (Hurt Little Boy and others I haven't sat and tried to identify). have been having a kindergarten riot for the last seven years.
One of his sub-personalities has been trying to act as the family saviour .... I know that much.
Is this making sense to you ? It comes from a psychological model called Internal Family Systems, by Dr Richard Schwartz, and it talks about all the natural parts of our personality that co-exist as an "inner family" whose combined efforts look after our welfare. Identifying them and getting in touch with them, and their feelings, their intent, can help us to understand a lot of our own drives and reactions, I really relate to this. It helps me to "read" what is going on for me and others around me.
Just step up the self-care and nurture that inner community of yours for now. The crying will ease of its own accord as things get soothed on the inside.
❤️💕

I love how you have grown and evolved and established your own identity and through this process you have found your voice. I think that is what I need to do in my recovery is to find my own voice and move forward in my life, and more importnatly staying true to myself, and the essence of who I am. You are a powerful and insighful woman @Faith-and-Hope
You inspire me to take risks and step forward into the unknow and have faith and hope that things are going to be okay but not just ok I am going to thrive this year.
