Re: Sleeping too much

Sorry to see some of you struggling - feel for you, hang in there!
I woke heavy crawling out of bed at 8am, sat up in t he yard enjoying mums beautiful garden, with rainbow lorrikeets, realised how massive the trees are - how much I've missed out on because of childhood trauma and a mother I never thought loved me. I could blame MI but hey, save time, this family, all of us in my family, at different levels, have MI / emotional probs. Its a debated issue having children when one is as unwell yet high functioning as my mother, all x6 of us her kids struggle.

Being here is teaching me how far I've come since my last visit 18months ago where I expected too much and was still Dow raw & hurt easy. This time I can see that I've stepped back emotionally & see a bigger picture.

better stop, go to dishes 😕

Re: Sleeping too much

@Former-Member. It's so great to hear from you. You are having a tough time - but you are handling it perfectly. Time out at op shop. Mindfulness. Cleaning. Your own space.
Don't worry about snapping. We all do it.
I think in the future you are going to be grateful that you took this time with your family (even though it's hard today).
I'm so proud of you.
Keep taking time out when you need it & using your calming techniques.
Sending you extra strength to get through the next few days.
♥♥♥

Re: Sleeping too much

Hey guys, just lookin for 3rd party perspective on Tx exchange between my estranged sis & I, as to whether or not to go out of my way to see her on my way home this week. Can't afford another upset before a long trip. Not sure I'd handle it or risk it or if its anxiety... Her tx msgs to me don't seem too keen. Should I bother?

TEXT CAZ ME
08/01, 2138hr, "Hi #(sis), mum's home, she has more colour in here face, energy & glad to be home. Her Hb got down to 63 (so any wonder she was so crook when I called ambo Sunday). She said your crook atm, the heat wouldnt help, she also said you have Iron Deficient Anemia too (3ofUs). How low is yours? I'm 109 - must be genetic. Aunty V# has monthly blood transfusions for anemia too. Anyway, I plan to drive home your way ?Sat if you want to forget the past and meet for coffee, or show off your new home? Also, are You going to Bruce's funeral?
09/01, 1115, Thanks for that. I'm not anemic just low in iron. not going to Bruce funeral. what time Sat were you thinking of?
09/01 1224, "Not sure yet, can work with you
19/01 1553, "OK. thanks. I'll see if P# (hubby) has already made plans for us but I'm pretty sure I'm free most of the day. .
20/01 1815 "yep, you didnt say if p# (hubby) had plans for tomorrow, but i decided to stay longer, NOT heading your way 'till maybe TuesWed now if that's OK?
20/01, 1910, "we haven't got any fixed plans this weekend, P# (hubby) has Tue morn & all day Thur off so what ever suits you. just let me know what you decide.
20/01, 1911 "I don't need to see P# (hubby/medical GP))
20/01, 1912 "That's ok, just letting you know in/case you wanted to discuss anything medical re Mar n Par etc. I'll be home both Tue & Wed.

Re: Sleeping too much

She's talking, that's something. @Former-Member sounds pretty normal to me but I don't know ins and outs. It is okay if You don't want to see her. She'll understand

Re: Sleeping too much

She does sound keen to see you @Former-Member, but not rushing at you with open arms obviously, owing to your prickly past with each other. If you can go without the expectation that you will ever be best buds, and just be very polite with her (and her hubby if he's there ....) it sounds like she would appreciate it.

If she starts getting prickly with you, you can always say that you are feeling a bit tired, so better set out for home and get some driving in before you need to stop and rest.

She may be feeling very grateful that you have stepped up for your parents, relieving her of some sense of guilt that she wasn't ... whether she feels warmly towards you or not, gratitude is good for her, and for you.

I am guessing that she is trying to remove herself from all the family mess, and has probably lumped you n with it in the past. You have grown @Former-Member .... you can see it in yourself, your son is starting to see it, and it wouldn't surprise me if your sister isn't seeing it too, and having to reassess her opinion of you.

My thought is that you should go, but plan on staying a short time, with room to extend if you find the barriers down and want to stay a bit longer. Also wear your shield ... you don't owe her anything other than a polite report about how your parents are, and a good morning / afternoon .... breaking the ice doesn't need to be anything more than that ... you have spent a lot of time in a dysfunctional relationship with her ... if that is going to heal and change it probably needs to happen in careful, balanced stages across a period of time .... keep a Teflon coating on your heart ....

So proud of you @Former-Member .... you are showing great strength and integrity, but keep prioritising your own welfare .... these relationships have been treacherous .... trust slowly and very carefully .... very politely ....

Re: Sleeping too much

@Former-Member. To me it sounds like she is happy to meet with you.
Try and go with no expectations - just a catch up. It might go better than you hoped.

Re: Sleeping too much

Thanks guys, appreciate it, I need her, and mum to actually say at some stage "I'd love to see you" The last 3times in Sydney my sister didn't answer my tx & we haven't had a conversation even on the phone for 4.5yrs. I have initiated this (not her), but wondering / fearful she's planning to put the kn#fe in. She's rang mum & mum her and had conversations in front of me here in the lounge room but not once acknowledging I'm right here in earshot. Just not sure if my gut is right. Cross with myself for starting it, ever hopeful but she hasnt been warm. I'll sort it out.
My Bro3 took my laptop home to fix and had may have lost all my data he just told me. He's had it 4 days, it was working fine when he took it according to me but he said it was too slow or something and blackmailed me about not trusting me so I thought itcwas just my anxiety and let him, against m gut, this has really stressed me. I'm fighting holding it in. Gonna go round tomorrow, try put everything important on a big USB and go hope without my laptop grr without saying anything because bro3 says its not his fault and yells at me (at least he's not talking about the reqsoncevery verticle wall in his home has double foil linings and he can't see out. What can I do?
Went to Dr with mum yesterday. At least I understand the medical stuff.
Don't need to tell sis about mums condition, she's married to an experienced medical doc (GP specualising in nutritional medicine) and mum faxed them her discharge summary.
At least I don't need my sister now. If she blasts me - I'll walk away 'tired' as you say. At least the ice is broken.
