Re: Sleeping too much

Yeah, us on our own (in the practical real world) have to drpendbon strangers, Gov services when things come unstuck. Don't hesitate to use them when needed. Do you have Road Service (like NRMA), I find it quite affordable. Police have a duty of care to make sure your safe. Do u ever ring lifeline when you get lonely or overwhelmed? I do, sometimes the person there is good. If really bad I hang up, ring again & get someone different.

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Former-Member

I can't do those little symbols on my gradually decreasing capacities of my elderly computer - and I don't have my phone set up for emails - I get too many and it's easier not to have them in my phone

But when I do get my computer I am going to fly flags and fill up a whole page with great pics etc - that won't be today - I had a massive headache when I woke up - probably the night-cap I usually never have

And TAB - you say your age and I will say mine - etc - I think we can say our age here - but it's irrelevant in this setting - it's not at all important - except

That we have had more time to learn things about life - those things we never learn about at school and our parents never tell us

But hi - you are fairly new here I think and so I would like to welcome you to the forum'

Decadian - [well past the best-by date]

Re: Sleeping too much

Oh @TAB, patience, not sure what u mean by 'curve' or the 360° re age. Pretty sure you can say your age here, maybe not your date of birth though lol Chin up.
I need to get off the couch.

Re: Sleeping too much

Hello @Former-Member @Decadian @Appleblossom @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member @PeppiPatty and @TAB. And anyone else on here that I might have missed.

I haven't met you yet @TAB. Nice to meet you. I joined on here approx 2 or 3 weeks ago. Had a break off here for a week, which was last week.

Just thought I'd pop in here and see how everyone is, while having my coffee and scone. I haven't achieved much today. Just the usual drop off and school pickup, washing, basic chores. Having a nap in the morning wastes my day, but I need more sleep.

How's everyone's day going?

@TAB, Decimal currency came into Aust 1966. I was born '58 (scary pushing 60) and still remember pounds, shillings & pents.

@Former-Member, good to dee you. Sounds like you've been busy. The MH system sure is difficult to juggle, especially without money. Pretty sad since we're one of the richest countries on the world (must be a lie or bad management). Kind of good in a way as MH pros don't have all the answers. Sometimes the bible & faith helps me more. I haven't seen a psychiatrist for a very long time but trying to see a psychologist every month a.t.m. She normally charges 155 but gives me discount of 120 😕 for a conversation. Last session was 35min meditation I could have done with a CD, not impressed, definitely not value for money. Anyway, have to work with what we have. Do you see a psychologist? Some GPs specialise in counselling, all of a hem can give a 20min (double booking) for counselling or MH visit re medicare. Can you find out a natural form of this drug you need, or the closest to it? Maybe ask pharmacist or 'blackmores' consultant or naturopath (getting expensive again). At least try eat lots of nutrient rich foods (vegies, lentils, beans, cnuts, fish, fruit...). High dose Omega3 & vit-c have had surprisingly good results treating MI - especially that of ADD, bipolar & schizophrenia, also highly recommended - 1hr (or x2 1/2hr) brisk walking daily. Join a common interest group. There are so many natural things to help - some are free. I love my garden & the birds.
Hope you are OK?

Re: Sleeping too much

Sorry for the whinge @Former-Member I guess I was really annoyed that I had so much trouble trying to get a perscription. Saw another psych after that one, only to find out that she couldn't perscribe the med, as she had been in trouble perscribing certain meds. The story goes on and on, lol, but I won't get into it. It was a very stressful time, only approx a month ago. I gave up.

Yes, I have seen quite a few psychologists over the years, but they weren't helpful. Have had quite a bit of prayer counselling, which has been very helpful. Have done quite a few counselling courses as well, as I find it very interesting.

I eat healthy, mostly and have seen naturopaths etcetera and now am able to exercise. So, doing all I know to do. I take quite a few vitamins, tonics etc.

Thanks for your tips though.

That's good that you enjoy your garden.

I have thought of joining a group, but haven't felt up to it. I get so down that I don't even know what I enjoy, to be honest. I will get out there again. Haven't been going to church either. Just finding socializing too much for me. I'll get over it.

How has your day been?
