Yes, of course @Former-Member. I understand, it can be very draining after a visit to the psychologist. You need to rest. xo

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Former-Member, I'd give you some of my *sleeping too much problem" if I could. Nightmares and Flashbacks are horrible torture through the night, so sorry this is escalating for you at the moment. Have you had a trigger lately? Something you can limit exposure to? The weather and smells trigger me most.

Its really good that you have the skill of grounding exercises, learning how to tap into those five senses right there in my bed in the middle of the night, shaking in fear, grounding was my only practical help to get through it by myself. I found practising mindfulness strategies when I'm not in crisis made it easier to do them other times, & more effective.

Overheating gives me nightmares. I have to use cotton, or natural fibres for clothing and bedding so as to not overheat.

Do you have a calming sleep routine before bed? Dimn lights, no screens, cup coco, read something calming? You know, if ever I read my Bible before going to sleep - I never have a nightmare. Some say a campher block under their pillow or a lavender branch helps. Vicks actually calms me.

Google "sleep hygiene" - for other tips - there's a lot out there now. Something's got to work.

Our subconscious is powerful, good you have also sought out therapy for those suppressed issues that off come out in dreams.

Hope it passes soon, hugzz xox

Re: Sleeping too much

Wanting to get away, out of reach of anyone and a change of scenery. Nobody's made any plans to be an with me or visit for my departrd daughters 19th birthday tomorrow. My son's meeting his dad half way Sat, for a drink & to show of his new car, but no mention of coming the extra hour to here. Its a bit irrational but its hurting me that he won't.
I could be alone here or away - with the gift of a change of scenery at least. If they want to bother briefly on the 11th hour - stuff 'em! I'm angry.

This isn't my life

..exactly ..stuff them .. do your own thing re remembering maybe @Former-Member can be hard expecting to people who are on their own plane to fit it with your plans ..

Re: Sleeping too much

Frightens me a little, running off to be alone O/N because this is part of my checking out fallback plan that's always calming mW in the background. Hopefully just an echo but its hard to know if I'll disassociate again, do dumb things, if I'm alone stressed or vulnerable, guess the wanting to 'run away' so badly us a warning sign. Its so hard to self assess, crying a lot today.
So want SOMEONE to love me, especially these times (put me first for a day, bring a meal), why is that too much to ask in this world - am I that horrible.
This is not my life, don't want it.

Re: Sleeping too much

they are all parts of 'you' .. the trick may to be to learn to appreciate your own company, you do okay on your own a lot of the time .. How bout you put You first, and have a meal etc ..not quite the same but can beat looking at same walls etc, could be enjoyable, empowering even? could you do that?
