Re: Sleeping too much
Hi @Former-Member
I have just come back on and picked up your post ..... I'm seeing something else here ..... and it's not actually about you.
To start with, yes .... what they did was hurtful, because that's not how you are and you were stunned to find that your son has toddled along with this without referencing what you expected him to do ..... is that wrong. ?? Not at all .... my expectation would have been the same as yours .... they are a couple, so you invite from both sides of the family .... her mother, and his mother ..... and that's exactly what they did for his graduation, right ??
Not helping at the point, I know .... but just bear with me .....
I am seeing that he got so tied up in it being about her birthday, and who she would like / expect to see there, that it didn't cross his mind to think if balancing the ledger and inviting his mum too .... and you ringing up (timing was perfect in fact !!) and actually stating your hurt at not having been invited would very likely have been an "oh, :pile_of_poo: !" moment for him ....
I know what my sons would have done if they were caught with their hand in the cookie jar ..... hiss at me through gritted teeth that it is supposed to be a happy time .... anticipating that I would make a scene and make everything they had carefully planned for their girl go all wobbly ..... and instead, you were saintly in how you handled it ....
GOOD GIRL ❣ You waited until you hung up to have the melt-down that I, and half this forum, would have had ..... and in fact, you will have made him proud .....
I said to you a whike back that your son will still be associating you with his "dysfunctional family" .... mistaking the loss of your daughter with the same sort of :pile_of_poo: that comes from bro's who do drugs and emotionally abusive others in the family ..... which is 100% a good reason to keep your distance and help from afar those who are not in the same sort of space that your son is now .... he has grown beyond them, and as you keep growing too you will stay in his sphere ..... move back closer to your birth family and you will be moving further away from your son. As @Former-Member pointed out, you have been gently and carefully rebuilding, and keep close with him ..... just keep swimming !!!
At the moment your son will be breathing in the sights, sounds, and tastes of a life very different ftom where he came from .... he may even be mistaking his girl's family for being classier than you .... but true class is found in what you would have done .... invited them too ... or at least stated that you would have expected them to be included ..... and thrown out the warmth and welcome mat in their direction at every meeting.
Money doesn't equal class. I'm gonna say that again .... MONEY DOESN'T MAKE THE MAN !! You've got class @Former-Member .... and your son is gonna work that out .... you've given him a giant clue to that today ....
And Hon .... that ice cream was a great idea !! Love your style babe .... 😀
You just hang in there and KEEP SWIMMING ...... 🐠🐠🐠❤️❣

Re: Sleeping too much
Thank goodness you are ok @Former-Member, you scared me and I just sighed in relief. Be knd to yourself for the rest of the night. Baileys ice cream YUMMO 💜
@PeppiPatty Sorry that you are having difficult times with memories of separated family too. I love that you share little snippets of things dear to you 💜
@utopia I also loved your story re the Aboriginal site. It made me smile and a little envious today but in a good way. I was envious with you connecting to your environment and all that it was showing you. I haven't really left bed. I was very tempted to call out today for help but have soldiered on alone and am kind of getting through better. Was also out of it for much of the day due to what I took last night to numb. I really hope you've discovered something undiscovered.
Hi @Shaz51 I always picture your hi messages with a big smile. I hope your your day has been kind to you.😀
@Former-Member Yep hopefully tomorrow will be an out of bed day for both of us.🤗

Re: Sleeping too much
Dont look outside of yourself for her .. she is inside .. YOU ARE ENOUGH @Former-Member .. and proudly birthed 2 beautiful beings on their own independent life journeys. Sadly your girl's path was short. If you strain to find her outside you might forget to nourish the part that will always be with you, that will never leave you.

This sucks
Yep @Former-Member ..... it really, really does ..... but it will pass .....
Maybe walk some more ?
Youre gonna get past this moment .... you raised your son to a better life than how you grew up, and you have achieved that .... he will remember that you made it happen for him .... breathe .... walk .... he will remember .... he is still very young and thoughtless about these things ......
Keep talking to us @Former-Member.
Walking with you ....
❤️

Re: Sleeping too much
Good @Shaz51 Thanks for asking. I am having memories of being left out of lots and lots of family gatherings like @TAWNEY is at the moment with her son.
It's hard and sad that it happens to us. Sometimes I think I have learned that :
it's because people take their unconcious problems out on women all the time.
I love this music from Paul Kelly. It is of 7 William Shakespeare's sonnets....
I dearly hope that @Bridget and @Appleblossom checks it out too......hi Apple :0) hi @Bridget
please check out the Sonnets by Paul Kelly, on Utube.... they are just.......beautiful.......
ello to everyone like @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member @Silenus
