Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Former-Member Finally I am replying to your message from yesterday.

After fighting feeling exhausted and aching all over, I finally got out of the house at 2pm today. Went with my daughter for a drive in the mountains. Walked around a country town up there and then a big walk in the rainforest on the way home. Cooked lamb steaks, mash and vegies, now sitting and relaxing with a cuppa.

Hubby and daughter have gone to the movies. I don't feel like pushing myself tonight. Plus I think they are seeing, Girl on a train. Looks a bit scary for me. I don't need to watch anything to make me feel fear or sadness. I like to watch happy movies.

You asked how the mindfulness is going and if I think I'm thinking clearer since stopping Benz. Yes, I am thinking clearer, but today, not so, because I'm super tired. I say everything wrong when I'm extra tired, but I try to laugh about it, because I know I'll be ok after sleep.

I am still practising the mindfulness. I haven't really noticed a huge difference yet, but it takes time for things to work properly sometimes. I have been researching more about it and heard on utube about how it helps the front of our brain work better, instead of over using the part of our brain that produces cortisol, adrenalin, causing stress etc. So, in time we can actually retrain our brain, so that's a good thing. Recommeded time is half an hour twice a day. I'll have to work myself up to that though. I've been doing it for a shorter period of time, on and off during the day.

You had a busy day yesterday. Whenever I have to fast for blood tests, I take a coffee with me and something to eat. That was lovely of you to buy flowers for your friend and a vase.

That is very sad that your dad fell. It is very hard seeing/hearing about parents aging. Try not to feel gulity about not being there to help out. You need to look after yourself at the moment and that's ok.

How has your day been today?

How are you @Faith-and-Hope? How is hubby coping, not being able to jog or do weight lifting? What a huge change for him.

Did you enjoy your day off today @Kurra? I hope that you didn't work too hard in your yard/garden.

Was your day any better today @Teej? It's ok if you don't feel like replying, I understand.

Hi @Shaz51 I read somewhere that you had a nice day out shopping and had lunch out. You'll probably need an early night tonight.

How was your day @Decadian?

Are you ok today @Former-Member?

And @TAB, has your day been ok?

Hello to anyone else who is on here, sorry if I haven't tagged you.

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Former-Member, yep I'm all good. I was exhausted earlier and finally rest for a bit when little man fell asleep bum up in the air on floor. Put hi. in bed, and rest saved me. I was so tired. I hate that feeling when u have to push on but it's so exhausting.
Your walk sounds really healing and nice.
I love rainforests.
Nice to have some time to yourself too.
Like your work! 😉

Re: Sleeping too much

Quiet days are good and necessary sometimes @TAB

Yes, it was a nice time out. I really need to push myself out sometimes, because staying at home too much isn't good.

Good to hear you had a rest @Former-Member. It is a horrible feeling pushing past exhaustion. I used to live like that every day, can't do that anymore. I used to work full time, when I was REALLY unwell with PTSD etc. I honestly don't know how I did it. I guess I didn't know any different. It was hell. I am very thankful that I don't have to work now. I would like to work part time for the feeling of accomplishment, but I just can't at the moment. Tried voluntary once a week, but PTSD became worse, had to stop, very frustrating. Need to enjoy life in the present and stop stressing about how much more I would like to do. lol RELAX

That's nice that hubby helped you cook dinner @Shaz51. What did you have tonight?

@TAB

BED has only been recognised as an ed in recent years .... but it's made a lot more sense of things .... and we will start to see campaigning to raise awareness cos it's leading to widespread health issues .... the sort WH was on medication for prior to his massive weight reduction.

@Former-Member

WH is coping by walking the two treks he usually jogs, and skipped his lunch to compensate for the missed gym sesh .... not a good idea cos the doc said he needs the protein, and that was his highest protein and food value meal of the day, but for a couple of days it won't make the difference. By then he will be in the specialist's hands, and I think they will start to ask the sort of questions about his diet, exercise habits, and lifestyle that need to be asked .....

To help pacify himself he has been feeding the kids the sort of comfort food he won't ingest himself ,.... but that's not really new either .... we can recognise it's his way of dealing with anxiety and control issues, but we have to be careful to balance it out. Otherwise it's like living in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Former-Member

I've had a wonderful day sleeping away the majority, of the day. I am tired still. I'll try to stay up later tonight but really I could easily just crawl into bed and snuggle up right now.

I got my fingers smacked by the GP because I ran out of my mood stabiliser 2.5 weeks ago. Yes well I am taking it again but at a lower dose. Only 4 graveyard shifts to go and I'll get 6 days off. I can't wait.

Take care 🎶💕

Re: Sleeping too much

Oh, if hubby is missing a meal, lucky it's only 2 days until he sees the specialist. @Faith-and-Hope

Yes, let's hope that good will come out of this.

Lucky he can still walk, it would drive him crazy otherwise.
