Re: Sleeping too much
Thanks @Former-Member
I am feeling totalled after constantly blowing my nose - and it is not a polite little sniffle - it's not something I want to practise in public at all
Actually - I feel exhausted - I woke up early and read for a while and went back to sleep - which was good - and now it's late and I really wonder what on earth is the matter with me - what dreaded lurgie attacked me and how long this is going to take - I am seeing my doctor this afternoon
And I have tried all the home remedies at my disposal as well as what the doctor ordered - it is a long time since I had anything like this -
And yes - there are things worse than this but right now I am having trouble trying to thing what they are
Let's hope a sunny day is better

Hi @utopia
I can tell how precious your son is to you - it shows with everything you write about him.
And obviously his father will never understand that until he believes in himself - and grows up himself - and alas - only he can do that
From the other side - my father saw me as a wonderful being - the last time we had a conversation - it was the best - everyone should have such a conversation with someone before they leave - Dad told me I was a wonderful daughter and a magnificient woman
But I wonder if my mother ever saw me as anything good - she was so bitter and cutting with me - ah yes - I believe she loved me and I loved her in spite of her manner -
So in the long run - I think I believed in myself because my father believed in me - and that was stronger than anything my mother said and did
And I am sure that your son will grow up knowing your valued him - and this will be stronger than his ho-hum father -
You are your son's life-model - and he is your blessing

Hi @Appleblossom
I love it that I can add something from symbols and mythology here - and you will understand -
I have not read The Fact of a Door Frame - at least I can't remember it - but somewhere among my books I have a set of Adrienne Rich's poems - I must search it out - when I have tidied the rest of the house - it is outrageously untidy after a week of feeling so darned crappy
Still sniffly -btw
Okay - the Door Frame - I don't have to ask if you know about the Roman god Janus - in charge of doors, gates, beginnings and January - and I get what you are saying about knocking your head on the door frame -
Do we go through or do we not? - I am sure I could think about all of this and write at least 1,500 words on it but heaven help all of us - I no longer have to do that
But doors and gates and beginning is an interesting subject and I am sure I don't have to tell you anything because I get it
So - we could talk about keys to doors
Or - if there is a doorway - is there a door in the space - open or closed - because it is not a good idea to run full-speed through a doorway if the door is closed - my cat tried that once when she jumped on my computer keyboard and it screeched like a demented cockatoo - and she ran smack!!! straight into the door
So - among the humour that keeps us going through the craze of life - doors, doorways, gates and beginnings and even January all haunt us at times. The Roman god Janus was not a user-friendly god - we approach new beginnings with excitement or trepidation - will this be good or not?
So - the door frame has potent meanings - just tap on it was we enter - and warn whoever or whatever is on the other side that we are there
All the best with that?

Morning Everyone .... 😜
Good to see a few of you about this morning .... sight for sore eyes .... 💐❣
I've sorta crashed with a cold .... to be expected .... WH had it last week .... just came out of a mega-busy weekend .... tired but happy .... probably quite exhausted which will show up across the week ... so need to rest and recoup ....
WH headed to the plane this morning ... (!) .... so once he's off I can put the R&R plan into action.
D3 is on school holidays, so .... No. School. Run. 👍🏼🎈🎊🎉🎤🎪💐❣ .... For. Two. Whole. Weeks. 👍🏼🎈🎊🎉🎤🎪💐❣
Of course WH was up at 4:30am this morning instead of 5:30am cos we raced the clock to catch the plane last time he went ..... nearly missing it .... and he had to get his morning jog in ...... and there was crap dumped in his gym area in the way of his pre-dash-for-the-plane-workout .... right ?
D3 has crashed this morning but I need her well to complete her TAFE certs to graduate.
D1 stayed over with soon-to-be-in-law-family and is collecting bridesmaids to help with put-the-house-back-together-and-return-all-the-hire-gear on her way back here ... to late to clear the gym area.
D2 can't do it.
S2 is going with WH .... but he's not packed .... of course .....
Muggins has cleared the gym area .... minutes ahead of a melt-down ..... but then gets to R&R for a couple of weeks on her own time management .... 👍🏼🎈🎊🎉🎤🎪💐❣
