Re: Sleeping too much

Thanks @Former-Member, sorry your sad, I get it. My mum has slow growing terminal cancer & gone down 2 dress sizes this year, dad is losing his memory Anson litu. Like you I want to be there for them but for C-PTSD triggers too. Mum on particular is difficult. The last two visits I came home so sick. Nobody so much as visits me in hospital when I crash so its a case of survival. I understand. Small doses is all I can suggest. This EDMR therapy sounds really confronting, are you sure its good for you?
Hope you sleep well & feel better tomorrow, nighty night

Re: Sleeping too much

Well done on all your work @Former-Member 😊👍🏼

You must have really enjoyed that "private waterfall" having unearthed it across the day ... 💦 ....l hope your back settles again quickly. It's good to hear you chirpy again 😄

I hope you sleep well @Former-Member. The EDMR might be slow progress, but it seems clear that it requires recovery days in between too. It makes sense though .... if the memories are being de-sensitised I would imagine its would be followed through with a grief reaction. Probably a good idea to step up the self-care. I hope you enjoy Bridget Jones Baby. 🌷💕

Good night @Former-Member. I hope you enjoy the volunteer work tomorrow ... 🌺

Sleep well @Former-Member Enjoy the swimming tomorrow with your little dragons ❣

Re: Sleeping too much

@Former-Member you are one amazing woman. I think your renovations show that you can do anything you set your mind to. Well done. Celebrations will be commencing soon I think.
You are inspiring me. I think once my garden is finally under control - by the end of spring. I might have to get into the kitchen and rip out the carpet - yes I said carpet - that the previous owners put in. Problem is I think it's been glued down. Might need some advice from you come summer.
Well done on all your hard work.
I hope your session tomorrow brings some light bulb moments that help you to heal.

Re: Sleeping too much

Thanks, its really hard for me, especially on the body so really appreciate the encouragement. My church friend is the only one who's seen it when i finished the toot corner, and unlike her she gave the comment you've "done a good job"- wow, amazing how skirtingboards finish a job.

@utopia, glued carpet is such a pain. Had it here when I wanted to polish thevold floorboards, but ended up putting lino down. You'll know what to do but happy to help with ideas.

Not sure I'll go to apt now, pouring rain & car tyre tread warn. I get over anxious driving out of town in bad weather. Don't know what to do.

Re: Sleeping too much

Morning @Former-Member, hello! Yep I'm all good. Omg your Reno's are awesome work, your definitely doing lets build Rome in a day! Like your work. 😉
I've been busy with my boys it's school holidays.
Actually I've been super busy round home too, weeded all the garden, mowing, in amongst washing (several loads), walks, skate parks, feed mouths!!
Well you've inspired me, our stupid towel rail in bathroom did it's death quite some time ago. We are persevering but I'm done drying hands for it to fall down!
Going to fix it myself with a new one.
My partner works hard, so self reliance is my call.
I'm glad you are feeling better. Hmm actually my back, shoulders are stiff today too 😏...once I start moving should come good!
Good luck with your appointment. I hope it really helps clear some recent stuff.
If your anything like me, I usually forget half the stuff I need to say because I've moved on or feel ok!! 😱
P s. Your car tyre, men love damsels in distress...flash a bit of leg!!! 😉😉😂
🎇☺🌼👍

Re: Sleeping too much

🌷💜 Morning @Former-Member @utopia @Former-Member and anybody else ....

Will that be tea or coffee ladies ? 😊☕️💕

Would "church friend" drive you to your appointment in her car if you offered to pay the petrol @Former-Member ? Of course I don't know how far that is, or whether you are happy for her to know you visit a psych doctor .... just trying to consider options along with you ...

Is the appointment in another town ? Is there a bus service to get there ?

Glad you impressed "church friend" with your renno's .... 😄 That must feel good ❣

Re: Sleeping too much

Morning @Faith-and-Hope,
I'm on tea now! Another cup would be lovely!
That's a good idea...maybe if it's near other shops you could say you have errands to run?
Or the bus with headphones so if your really in a zone, it can help tune you out after appointment? @Former-Member

Re: Sleeping too much

Good Morning @Faith-and-Hope,
Strong White Coffee here for me plz.

No, I hate asking for help, especially from my already overloaded church sister, besides, she would just argue i'm irrational & need to require more of myself... After telling me her lifetimes similar experiences first..., and she thinks psychology is humanistic, that receiving 'councel' from unbelievers is not scriptural... Really, all she seems happy to do is lifts to church (if I'm prepared to wait in the car while they grab groceries etc after), & drop in for coffee every 7 - 10days Also, she talks - doesn't keep confidence. I'd rather not have to trust her but that I have nobody else.

Last Saturday She didn't pick up when I needed a lift home from hospital 6.45am. In the ambulance fuss to get here, I left my ph at home so used hospital ph. It was hard being pressured by the hospital to free up the bed when I don't really have anyone (pushed all my buttons). After 5 calks to church members I got an answered but she sent her hubby to do it which was awkward as I was in my PJ's but I was relieved as there's no bus Sat & can't afford 40min taxi trip.

In the meantime, my coffee friend tried to ring me back, flew into a panic, called 000, broke into my house looking for me, and somehow got the ambulance to come to my house (how do you do that without a body?), said she told paramedics I sounded unwell in my msg 😕 and all about my suicide attempts 4yrs ago (to justify her panic I guess). Fortunately it was the same paramedic who transported me the night before. He filled her in on my SVT Heart Scare... (hmm)... You get the picture?

I tried to ring her 6.45am, got home by 8am, noticed someone had removed the screen, found my mobile and noticed she'd returned my call x5 missed calls from her. I immediately rang her back - thats when she told me all the above fuss shed gone to trying to find me the previous hour, presuming the worst. I was shocked all this had gone down because of me, and she was annoyed. Not sure HOW I could have handled things better for her. Hate fuss!

She didn't pop back over to see if I was OK, which would have been nice, to debriefed, she went sight seeing day out with her hubby all day.

Don't want to seem ungrateful of the male driver and her efforts by complaining, so I've held it all in since, but honestly don't want to o bother her. Am I being irrational? Unreasonable? I don't know. Just gets too hard to know what will work out, so I just lay low.

Does all that make any sense?

Makes perfect sense @Former-Member .... and I feel so sorry you had to go through that .... and yes, there are people who are more supportive who wouldn't be adding to your emotional loading ....

Communities tend to have "characteristics", brought about by the characters who make them a community .... in a rural area, and according to the historical context of the place, the particular families who have been there a long time, how the town operates and who fills the governmental or conmmunity management roles all play a part in the general characteristics of the place ....

I have lived in small outback towns at times growing up. Some can be very sports-minded communities. Others are very cliquey and a "who knows who" sort of place. Sometimes there are major social issues. You sound like you've got a set of characters around you there with a different value system to yours, but I am astounded by how giving and caring you are considering the abusive family you grew up with @Former-Member ..... total kudos to you ❣ And and absolute testament to your faith .... so proud of you ❣

Keep sifting through the people around you, and keeping a look out for new folk appearing within your environment. I'm gonna post a quote for you on your quotes thread I found the other day, and it made me think of you ....

Big hugs .... ❤️🌹

I woulda dropped in to see ya ❣ Glad to find you here this morning ....
