Sleeping too much

@Former-Member. My boy is 14. We split when he was 2 & 1/2. But I did have a bf for a few months when my boy was 4. So been single 10 years. Not a hand hold or kiss let alone anything else. Been lonely at times. But then I didn't want just anyone. Discussed this at my session on Thursday. How my ex had half a point of the values I hold dearly. So it was doomed to failure. I didn't pick well.
When my boy was 9 or 10 - he asked me to get a husband. He requested a husband that played sport. I explained that the men I have met aren't good enough for me - which means they are totally unsuitable to a part of his life. As I'd only want a man who I knew would love my son as if he was his child.
Broke my heart when he said this, as all his friends have dads at home. He and I are a rarity in town - being divorced. And he's my boy. I want to give him everything. But I can't prevent the pain his dad inflicts.
Even my mum spoke to my ex the other day about spending more time with my boy. Or else he will loose his son. He didn't even listen.

@TAB. I live in a farming community, but I'm called a 'townie'. So I hear the stories of their hardships, but don't suffer them myself. Thiswinter we had rain for 62 days of ththe 92day sseason. Higher than average. Farmers are rapt. They have struggled so hard ths past 4 years. Below average rainfall. Animals they can't afford to feed and no one wanting to buy them. Heartbreaking

That's so sad @utopia. My kids used to feel different to everyone else too because they were so young when he left us. Then we kind of became a family again. My youngest just started calling my ex partner dad about two months before our world caved in.

You'll find someone when and if it suits you. I'm a bit ambivalent about it all too these days. It's more the occasional desire than the need to have someone else in my life. Think it will be such a long time before I could ever trust anyone again.

By the way you've done the hard yards so it's no wonder you have a gorgeous son. 💜😊

@TAB. It is what it is. No point dwelling on what can't be changed. I'm alright. And my boy will be too.

@Former-Member. Thank you. Us mums are doing it hard, but doing so well for our kids. A partner will come to me when it's time. My boy and my health are my priorities
