HI @utopia
The work we do in psycho-therapy is hard stuff - it really works down inside us where we can't see much - just feel a lot
I would usually have to ring Life Line and debrief after a session - and years ago when I was doing carthatic hypnosis I would have to go and see my minister for an hour the day after - it was so hard
So yes - we can say - if there is a club for those of us who are into therapy - we are all getting to our psycho-therapy anonymous sessions bleary eyed and exhausted - which is possibly some of what we are doing in this website - yes indeed - very hard work
I am thinking about finding another psyschologist - letting time pass a bit first - but yes - down deep inside us there are wells - some are full of energizing water that keeps us going - others drain us
What a wonderful thought - here we are - in real life we are human people - in this site we lose the body and become what the mind allows us to write about ourselves - and those deep resources and memories within.
Spiders now - thanks for reminding me - I am not afraid of spiders - I put the huntsman spiders outside - and squish the black house spiders. The ones I think about are orb spiders - they are black usually with big round tails - hence their name - and the live around my front door in the cracks and those cracks are full of web - so it's time to go out there now and use the spray with a wand and sweep out the web I can reach and spray in the holes. Those spiders are not venomous but they are dirty - I have had a couple of bites from those and I have needed antibiotics - for two or three weeks.
Watch out for the orb-spiders - and sometimes they have a yellow lightning strike across their tail

Hi @TAB
The German word you are looking for here is Waffenstillstand - meaning truce - and from where I am there has been no feeling of such a problem between us
I have had trouble understanding most of your posts - but I figured that as most people were answering you they understood - and I am older than most and from a different generation that I was out side the circle - so to speak.
Some of you posts annoyed me - I will admit - but not to the point of alienation -- but that is my problem - not yours.
However I am sorry that my lack of interaction may have caused you to feel badly - that was not my intention. My personal method to deal with situations I find hard to understand is to learn what I can if possible - otherwise - in this case - to move on and deal with what I do understand
Last night our conversation was a good one - and worth having - I could understand what you were saying and to me that's important
All the best
Decadian

H
i @Decadian yes that was what I was going to put re german word, but thought the other one looked better. My German in only basic and very rusty, but play with it sometimes. And yes, not everyone 'gets' everyone, and I do go off on 'tangents'. It's fine

Re: Sleeping too much
Hi @Former-Member
Thanks for the vinegar spray for spiders - I have vinegar in a spray bottle already
About the alarm - I don't think they are just for age-related problems but for people with health problems who live alone or are alone for a lot of the time. If you feel vulnerable you could look into it
Being alone so much can be soul-destroying some times - how do people do this? How do I do it?
There are days when I wonder why I bother - I did not cause the isolation I find myself in - oh yes - I decided that my marriage was better over and with my ex-boyfriend - that reached a stage where it was too much giving on my side and not enough on his - the whole thing wore me down too - so what happened?
Life was pretty busy for a while - but TS cannot leave a situation alone without getting into the kind of stuff I think is better left unsaid - so this has isolated me better - but I think of alternatives to my way of life and they do not appeal in the slightest
I have a lot of interests - and I always seem to have plenty to do - and I have to live around my Chronic Pain Syndrome - and this means I can't do a lot of what I used to without making the pain a lot worse
When I was in the website I was in before here - someone asked me how I did not allow my Chronic Pain to define my life - my reply was that something far worse had happened that did define my life - and that was the death of my son. Having survived that nothing has been bad enough for me to want to end it again - I found something else within myself I think - a light that burns without consuming me - and inner fire - this motivates me to get up everymorning even if I feel so darn crappy I will continue - even though the world can be a dark place sometimes
As they say - nothing is so bad it can't get worse - and when my mother died and I was forced to recall my repressed memories all this was hard work - but it released me from the terror that I could not focus on - did not understand - and since I have had psycho-therapy I have come a long way -
Another thing was finding female emancipation young and though still caring for my children I found I could free my mind and my soul from the mores of a society that tried to condemn me for thinking different thoughts
All this sounds deep and strange when I write it down - the short answer - in spite of everything my life is interesting - it has always been interesting -
But I want to check out around age 90 - old age has no attraction for me - I have no plans - I just feel that is my use-by date and I hope God agrees with me.
So I hope that maybe in there you might find an answer - I do understand what you mean -
The death of my son was the most important thing that ever happened to me - it enabled me to see that life is very precious - and although the years I have grieved seemed like a waste of time when I was going through it - it still does when I have a bad time - it has defined me.
I feel as if my life has value
All the best @Former-Member - it is hard living alone but in spite of everything - this is the way I want to live
