Re: Sleeping too much

Laughed at the last sentence @utopia. Think I get the same way with the euphoria after some sessions followed by the reality crash. I really believe this crash was born from being turned on high for too long with adrenaline kicking in as in I had to put my very happy bubbly cheerful mask on and avoid all the hurt to make sure my mum had a good birthday. I pulled it off, possibly a little too well as everyone now thinks I've made a miraculous recovery spending time away with family but you get that. Man I'm on overdrive rambling tonight.

Re: Sleeping too much

Ahh @utopia you achieved things today with no expectations. I'm very serious when I say that I'm still in my pjs, have now eaten and had a coffee, still need to take medication. I watered the plants and sorted Centrelink out for my son and reported to them. That's it. Drove myself nuts for the rest of it. I need to take my expectations away. You seem to be happy and achieving things you haven't for months like the weeding. I think you've got it right for now. It is still one day at a time one week at a time.

Re: Sleeping too much

Hi @Former-Member

Yes - I am enjoying my new computer - it's a beauty - and the keyboard is the same kind as my old laptop - the keys are slightly raised and I touch type - so this is important

I am sorry you are battling but we have to battle - I don't know what EMDR is - perhaps I should look that up - but there is no need at all to be over something - I wish I could be over things - but the trauma of my early life - and then the middle of my life - that eases but it is still there - and I still have to recover from what I remembered at my mother's funeral

Is this old stuff or new stuff - but that's not important - it's stuff we wish we were over - but it takes work and it leaves scars and maybe the scars are reminders and what we learn in time that the scars are the marks that never heal - we have scars inside too - and they never heal - but they are scars - not wounds

The way to healing is watching and working on the wounds becoming scars

And this is such hard work - yes - you must have had to become numb to protect yourself from the pain -

Ah - the trauma of childhood can be horrific

Re: Sleeping too much

@Former-Member. Yesterday was my pajama day. But my psychologist gave me the homework last fortnight to start setting household and exercise routines into a daily timetable. Didn't do that! Oops

Re: Sleeping too much

@Former-Member. When I came out of hospital after a month due to SI, I had a friend say 'but I saw you down the street and you were smiling'. Hence I can't be sick. Lol
You have done heaps and you need a good restful sleep.

Re: Sleeping too much

You know @utopia @ Faith-and-Hope I always would have leaned towards the pessimist side. Expect that it will be wrong and hope to get it right. Not sure what that says about me. 😁
