Hi @JennyK 😊
The beach walk sounds great ..... ❣
I am in a family situation where circumstantial depression threatens us all .... exercise is one of the best coping mechanisms there is, I think ..... unfortunately for us my husband has taken exercise to an extreme, likely in an effort to control something that has gone awry with his inner world, cos that's not the only issue ..... but I walk as much as I reaonably can.
Most mornings I go looking for the local dolphin pods in the river just down from our house, and the trek between two bridges is about 10km .... very nice on the days I feel up to it, or find the time free.
Don't know whether your daughter would find this appealing, but I posted a recipe for "Adult Play Dough" on another thread yesterday ..... I think of it as aromatherapy in a tactile form .... it might be something you could make together as an alternative to a stress ball ....
Calming Lavender Play Dough

I like to add in rose oil and rose petals .... I am sure it would work just as well with peppermint oil and dried oeppermint leaves ....
Ingredients:
* 2 cups of flour
* 4 tablespoons of cream of tartar
* 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
* 1 cup of salt
* 2 cups of boiling water
* few drops of lavender oil
* few drops of rose oil
* dried lavender petals
* dried rose petals
Method:
* Mix together the flour, cream of tartar and salt in a bowl.
* Add the oil and water and keep stirring until it all comes together.
* Leave it in the bowl to cool and don’t worry if it looks a little gooey at this stage.
* Once cool enough add to a dry surface and knead knead knead! This is the most important part and helps to get rid of all the stickiness.
* Store in a airtight container or ziplock bag and it lasts for months. Keep somewhere cool, ours is usually in the fridge
