Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hi All

There is a thread operating on the Lived Experience Forum under Night Shift where members who are having trouble sleeping for any reason give a bit of a shout-out, to see if there is anyone else sleepless and looking for company. It's been such a great thing, I thought I would start one over here too.

I have had the odd few nights where I have woken up on and off, and my kids have been having a bit of trouble some nights too, depending on what has happened during the day.

Being a carer can be lonely too, so if you are making an after-midnight cup of something hot, and wonder who else might be doing that too, maybe have a look-in here and see if anyone else is about.

@Ceebubbles

Some people really just don't niknik how to "do" relationships .... some of those will learn how if they are guided or taught .... others will only ever be able to manage the mere basics and come across as a bit heartless, or stilted, or plastic ....

You sort of have to work out what the base material is that you have to work with, so you don't spend your life expecting something from them that they are either not capable of, or not willing to give.

I would suggest that your in-laws are like that, and the best you can do is just be polite when you have to interact with them, but otherwise look at who you can replace them with in your children's lives .... because your children deserve better.

My kids have grown up with a respect for my in-laws' life view, and their emotional limitations, and work with that model when they socialise with them, which is quite a lot .... but they reserve their "real" relationships for people who are in it for better or worse, good or bad, heart and soul, humour tears and the rest ....

I hope that helps you with the decision-making.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Thanks @Shaz51 .... 😊

Mixed weather here today ....

D3 has cramps today, but has to push through it and get to school anyway .... curcumstantial depression is making them feel worse than they are, but she has to keep going or the depression will take over .... starting to count down the days till she finishes .... not long now.

She is supposed to be a bridesmai for her sister's wedding at about the same time school winds up .... so that is keeping her going .... she can't be too ill to finish school but be fine to be a bridesmaid .... so it's helping her to suck it up and not let the pain psychosis take over ....

How are you feeling ? How is your sciatica ?

sore today , have not got a appoinment yet to start the treatment @Faith-and-Hope

Is there anything to help with D3 cramps xx

I get cramps in the legs esp at night because of the kidney as i have to cut down on salt

it is good for D3 to look forward to the end of the year , something that will help her through

I wish D3 all the best and encouragement for the days ahead

curcumstantial depression -- this has me interested

if you don`t mind me asking what is it

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Not at all @Shaz51 ....

This is my understanding of it, but I am happy to be corrected by anyone who has more experience or qualification in this area ....

Circumstantial depression is where your circumstances are so difficult to manage that they affect your emotional well-being causing depression .... but not the same sort of deep-seated depression that conditions like Bipolar are known for .... an hopefully it starts to resolve itself when you can change the high-pressured or painful circumstances you are currently in ....

Like short term memory and long term memory though, I think circumstantial depression can roll over to something more deep-seated if the curxumstances causing the problem are not removed. There is only so much we can hold at bay, and for how long ....

It is important to apply all the self-care and coping strategies you can to try to ease the affects of your circumstances.

Does that make sense ?

Hi @Faith-and-Hope xx

You are sooo awesome my friend

yes , it makes a lot of sense

I remember telling the specialist that my hubby is affected by curxumstances in his life

I can see why it is hard to diagnose Circumstantial depression or BiPlolar

I am understanding why all the specialist are saying they don`t know what my hubby has
