I've had a great outcome today @Former-Member ..... happy to celebrate it with lemon merangue and chocolate tarts .....

It's a breakthrough in part of our situation .... the family doctor has recognised that my S2 is struggling with an mi and taken him out of classes for the rest of the year, and referred him to a psychologist .....

It's not great that he is unwell, but the real problem is WH's in-denial eating disorder - still hidden and causing him to be emotionally abusive, towards S2 in particular as the at-home son and even more so as S2's self-confidence has fallen and he has begun to flounder ..... in the pattern of his family WH has been swinging between "good cop" and "bad cop" with him, trying to "straighten him out".

Today's outcome means that S2 will receive the support he needs, and it has created a protective boundary around him that WH will be unable to cross. Me seeing a psychologist intermittently has had the same effect, protecting me while we can't get WH sorted.

I have felt guilty at times, not leaving WH and exposing my family to ongoing harm, but Ai still believe the outcomes would have been much, much worse if I had tried to leave and take the kids with me.

Hopefully the damage we are incurring can be reversed, and this new eventuation may result in the exposure of the e.d. that we need.
