wow ok @Faith-and-Hope you just took me back to my childhood in Rabaul (PNG) which iwas buried in ash in the 1994 volcanic eruption... but anyhow... we used to make those crosses out of pandanas and there was a massive palm sunday parade down the streets and people lined both sides to come out and watch it and lay coconut palms in front of the parade as it approached. Hadn't even thought about that for ages. Thanks so much for reminding me of that memory.

ok this is quite synchronistic. I just finished writing an episode of a bunch of us marooned on Turtle Island @Faith-and-Hope and on it I am teaching Lil-caterpillar how to make things out of coconut palms and pandanas palm leaves, and lo and behold you have posted the same kinds of things I made as a kid in the culture I grew up in. The same kinds of things in my story, I am teaching Lil Caterpillar and I did not see your images until just now, after not only I had written my episode but also after I posted it.

That's quite coincidental because it is not the type of thing you see every day, especially on this forum. 🙂

ya @Faith-and-Hope I came in and saw your cross earlier, but had not seen the other images you had posted on F&A. I nearly mentioned the story then but it didn't seem quite so relevant cos I had not put the palm sunday angle in. However. your cross did remind me of my palm sunday memories as I mentioned.

Anyhow, after I had posted the Turtle Island stuff I went to F&A to have a squiz.. wow that's a bit of a coincidence because some of the pics I grabbed for later are actually on the same pinterest page as some of the ones you pasted there. What are the odds of us using images from the same web page in a matter of hours, completely independently and for totally different reasons. Mathematically the odds of that happening have to be almost zero. Yet it happened!

Our house was damaged and flooded from a split water pipe while we were away. 18 months later it was damaged and flooded in what they were calling a 1 in 200 year storm.

And it's gone on and on ....
