Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hi All

There is a thread operating on the Lived Experience Forum under Night Shift where members who are having trouble sleeping for any reason give a bit of a shout-out, to see if there is anyone else sleepless and looking for company. It's been such a great thing, I thought I would start one over here too.

I have had the odd few nights where I have woken up on and off, and my kids have been having a bit of trouble some nights too, depending on what has happened during the day.

Being a carer can be lonely too, so if you are making an after-midnight cup of something hot, and wonder who else might be doing that too, maybe have a look-in here and see if anyone else is about.

Hi @Determined - just wanted to give you a big HUG. It is a busy day today. I am here at work....working away - lots to do. The anxiety level is up a notch - more so than yesterday. It is not doing me wonders at all cause my partner is still at back of my mind and the worry about him.

@Shaz51 - hope you are going ok.

Will try to speak to you all tomorrow night, if not over the weekend!

Hope everyone's feeling at the very least okay this morning. The rain has cleared and I went for a long walk. There are a few lakes around that weren't there earlier this week???

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Lovely pic @Former-Member - wish I could have a nice day. I know it is Friday but I am feeling extremely flat/low (whatever you like call it) today. Could be the lack of sleep, or being overwhelmed....I am unsure. This feeling doesn't really help now with my thoughts. Haven't heard from my partner yet (2 weeks since our argument, a week since I caught a glimpse and also since I have tried reach out but his phone appears be off since Sunday....WORRYING!) The plan is obviously to call his home phone (thank you white pages!) tomorrow if I don't. But it is causing me to think what if he has been really anxious or depressed and wants be left over. By calling him am I overstepping the boundaries? What are the boundaries and right thing when you care for someone with MI. I know he may need his alone time and space but at same time I am worried because I haven't heard so I can only think the worst.

Sorry for the long message. Feels like bringing the mood down now.

@Anony18 - It's perfectly understandable that you are feeling down. The uncertainty must be very confusing and wearing on you. You just want to know what's going on. It's a big step up from just being able to send a message to calling a landline and speaking.

Perhaps rehearse what you would say and try to be as relaxed as possible before you make that call. Hope you get some resolution to this situation.

Hi @Anony18

Thinking of you at the moment and trust today is a better day for you.

I don't think it is unreasonable to want reassurance that your partner is ok. Boundaries can be tough when dealing with a loved one with MI, ther are for me anyway. I don't think however that it is unreasonable to expect basic courteous communication, so while it is great that you are sensitive to his feelings and possible need for space you should not feel bad about wanting some form of contact.

Ps thanks for the hug, needed that ☺

Hi @Shaz51

Just going over posts from the last week now, sounds like it has been full on for you and hubby. Have been thinking about you both. I saw you missed out on tc Debbie, that must have been a relief (feel soŕry for all those who copped it though), how are you going with the wet?

Dieting, yuk that wont be fun. I went to a dietician years ago under duress of the gp, went in with a bad attitude to start cus I didnt want to be there so unfortunately nothing came of it. Silly me 🤔
